Been away from the game for a few years....updated my IL2 Sturmovik BoS...can't find the settings for utilizing the mouse for look around....prefer this to the NUM - Pad method &/or HAT -Switch

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a reference article/video?

Thanks!

Oops...I'm been away too long...figured it out!  ?

Only remaining problem....if I look to the side & want to return to the centered view, setting a button on my Stick (Warthog) to "Reset Camera" does not move the view back to the centre...I have to move the mouse.

Will keep working at it! ?

It seems the updated Settings panel are a bit more complex than in earlier versions of the game...love a challenge!

Problem solved...going to Head Snap settings resulted in a proper 'Reset Camera' function.

This is fun!!

Using the mouse with my left hand to control lookarounds is a bit of a challenge but it works.

Did not know there were left-handed/ambidextrous mice out there....and there is a left-hand gaming mouse (Razer Naga) with 12 buttons on the thumb side...come on Amazon!

Wow..This Razer Naga (Left-Handed)is the answer to one great look-around function along with 12 buttons to adjust your camera settings 'on the fly'

Your right hand remains free to fly the plane.

In setting up, a combination of Camera & Pilot Head settings does the trick - glad to send mine along if anyone is interested.

I do use a combination of Right (Left on the mouse!) Button - Mouse X & Y axis to lookaround..prevents inadvertent movement along the Axes if your mouse moves.

I used the Windows 10 Mouse settings to control things rather than diving into the complex settings that Razer software provide...might be a future project!

Here is how I use the buttons ( 3 still unused)                                  113325499_ScreenShot2022-12-04at3_48_18PM.png.0eec83aa170fa8f82b6e0f719eef83a1.png

Any suggestions for improvement really appreciated.

How did you managed to set it up? Mine for some reason snaps to vertical or horizontal and i have to use "force" to unlock it. Its not as smooth as normal "looking".

Czejenesku..

Here are the settings I have now...still modifying as I learn the game.

I utilize the Windows 10 Mouse settings 1st:

   Set the Primary Button

   Cursor Speed Minimum

   Roll mouse wheel to scroll

       Multiple lines at a time

Lines to scroll each time - 99

   Mouse Properties

Pointer Options:  Speed Slow  -  Enhanced Precision

IL-2 Settings:

  1. Input Devices

Camera

Camera Controls 1 - I use the numbered buttons on my Razer Mouse...the numeric keypad would work...or a hatswitch/buttons on your joystick

Note that I combine a mouse button with the X & Y movements in order to prevent view movement if the mouse inadvertently moves.

Camera Controls 2

Camera Controls 3

Pilot Head Control 1

Pilot Head Control 2

Here are the Button Settings on the Razer Mouse...Note that I moved the "Reset Camera" function to button #4 on the mouse...this controls the external camera....for the pilot head, I use button #3 on the mouse:

Hope this helps!
