I never noticed that before... THAT'S AWESOME! Such a level of deatil is MADNESS!

Can't disagree, the damage model (visual and physical) is even now far and away the best I have seen. 

I have to say the single feature that amazes me still is the hydraulic system failure and watching a single strut of undercarriage slowly fall from the wing. 

Here is  video I recently created which shows an aileron fail and then a wheel drop from the wing as it spit

Have you noticed Mysticpuma? Apparently the damage to the hydraulics also affects the flaps, look how the two flaps don't drop to the same level when comparing the two wings. They are not even-levelled.

Yep, that's what I mean, so much further ahead visually than the competition even after all these years.

Once i got hit in the left engine on 110 and it was set on fire and eventually the fire spread and my entire left wing was burning by the time i crash landed

Even 8 years ago the visual damage modelling was and still is head and shoulders above BoX and DCS. Cowling, wing panels, fire.... amazing!

Sorry Puma, you're right. By "aileron fail" I should have interpreted "flaps". I thought you were talking about that wing with its tip being torn off (with the aileron, obviously).

The first time a 109 I was behind dropped an undercarriage leg in the Atag server actually made me pause. Odd, it’s a game but knowing the aircraft a was a crippled made me feel bad for carrying on. 
 

I did the gallant thing and flew to his side and waggled my wings in salute of this Brave warrior. 
 

He did the online mp thing and shot me down before de spawning.
