Yes, it is. But not in Great battles.

You have to get Cliffs of Dover - Blitz for that. You can fly several early versions of Bf 109 without automatic prop pitch there  - E-1, E-1/B, E-3, E-3/B.

Someone did make a mod for the spit VB that nerfed its 20mm's to simulate .303s. Someone could probably do the same to our E-7. 

 

You should be able to toggle manual prop pitch if you assign the proper key.

 

Thats about as close as you could reasonably get.

Yes I did, for standard MG-FF used with the E3 and early BF110-C2...

For E1 like E3 you should only use manual propeller pitch control and now there is by default an early west 1940 skin available.

Concerning the armament:

we can't change the cannons, but we can change the ammo.

-You will have only 60 rounds for wing MGs available, cannot be changed.

I could magine 2 solutions:

-we use an extremly reduced explosition power equal / similar to a 7,92mm round and you use unlimeted ammo, but you stop the time equal to 600 rounds per wing machine gun.

-or for a compensation of the only 60 rounds we select maybe the explosive load of the 13mm MG131. I did a similar thing to simulate the 4 7,7mm Brownings with ca. 350rounds  / gun by the 2 20mmm Hispano Suiza guns with 60 rounds: here I selected the 15mm MG151 he shell and for armor piercing I reduced the 20mm to the values of the 7,7mm Browning. (see my mod)

I am currently flying an BF109-E3/E4 and later E7/F1 career with Vanders EMG.

The AI Spitfire Ia with my mod are dangerous opponenents. They can shoot down german planes but not so fast as with real 20mm Hispanom Suiza cannons.
