All those newer items not in Jim_TM's mission edit manual like on moored at times keep me wondering what one can do with it.

I would gladly even pay for an updated version, but it's probably a too time consuming project, even if some expert works it out.

Or as add on to the original manual?

PS a question about village smoke. Wind is set to 0 on the ground, got 2 village smoker loops, each blowing in opposite directions.

Can you direct them?

Yes you must set the direction to all smoke effect (the number within the red oval), it must be the same number as the wind direction in Mission Properties/Atmosphere options... tab.

That's the area I never dared to tread... haha, maybe if you set the wind speed to zero, then the smokes will go straight to the sky.

Btw I noticed that the chimney smokes are indeed influenced by the wind speed - if the wind is very strong then the smoke looks more bent to the side.

Yes, that's correct.

Some effect indeed will move according to wind direction AND wind speed.

There are exceptions like the Big City Fire effect which is fixed and is angled in a fixed direction even if wind is zero. You have to orient (Rotate) it manually so that it is oriented according to the wind direction you have set in your mission. The problem is if your windspeed is zero and you have in the same area different type of effects where the angle of the smoke is depending on wind speed, you will have in case of zero wind speed or light wind the big city fire that will have its some bent in a direction and all others going straight up, which is absurd.

It would be time to correct all this and have all smoke effects to be oriented according to wind and angled according to wind speed. This is done for certain effects why not simply make them all the same once for all. Thanks.
