Hptm. Robert Weiss is struggling to get his Gruppe III./JG54 to defend against the overwhelming onslaught of Allied fighters and bombers supporting their offensive attack on German held Normandy. After the D-Day landing, the Allies have now got a firm hold on the Normandy beach head, establishing a string of temporary airfields. It is rumored they are about to ‘break-out’ from the beach head at any time!

This was the scene confronting Hptm. Weiss on today’s early morning patrol against Allied fighter bombers in the Evreux area.

You can put your ‘Fockes’ on autopilot and watch them taxi out for take-off. I wish to thank the ‘skin makers’, especially ‘E69_julian57’ for his excellent Focke-Wulf skins which are listed on the mission text.
