Quick Mission Builder tank battle icons

So let me get this straight development team, It's OK to simulate tank battles on British soil (even though zero ground battles took place on the isle) but it's not OK to fly over Moscow (even though the Luftwaffe actually bombed the city multiple times)? :scratch_one-s_head:This is literally the definition of hypocrisy!

...because scenery objects are designed to be viewed from a distance of 5-15 km, but close up they look very simplified, too simple for a modern game.

Per the information above, we cannot fly over Moscow for technical reasons only. So I am retracting this rant. My apologies to the developers.

Not flying over Moscow is a technical limitation. Try flying over some of the large cities on the Rhineland map, like Cologne, and you'll see the performance drop--this is why we never get to fly over even bigger cities like Moscow, London, Paris, or Berlin.

On the other hand, QMB is just for some quick action. It has never been about where starting points or enemy units "should" be. Usually this isn't too conspicuous, but in places like the Channel and Arras maps it can be a little odd to see enemies on the wrong side of the front, or tank battles in Britain.

Its Quick Mission not Historical mission ffs

When were Tempests flying over Kuban or Stalingrad, its same thing with ppl constantly complaining that IN QUICK MISSION there is axis ground units in England lol

Moscow cant be bombed because game cant handle big citys like Moscow, same reason why you dont even have traic of Paris or London, its not some great conspiracy by iliminatians or jo rogians or dark bidens baltic wizards... its quick mission free for all

IF anything, ability to have same type of QM in Normandy map, units in england, is totaly consistant wth other maps. It would be inconsistant if they didnt have that option in england part of map.

We're on the 5th module and you're just now noticing that quick missions are not historical?  Really?

In a game where we are nights of the sky, tank commanders and can be killed 100 times a day. And then repeat tomorrow. I don't see a problem with this. Have a little imagination please.

Or just don't click on it.

This mod works -- I just flew over Moscow in a Quick Mission:

https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/52852-effedb-mod-moscow-free-flight-break-the-no-fly-zone/

The graphical rendition of Moscow is circa "IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles" or earlier. I don't know if Moscow was always intended to be only set dressing on the horizon; or if it became a forbidden zone during development. I'm glad the mod works, if only because getting ejected from the no-fly area is annoying.

Can this mod be be used on other maps like Normandy?  If not has anyone developed one that can be used on other maps?
