It was also released with a much better documentary series giving a proper historical look at the Regiment... Rogue Heroes however is just a peaky blinders version of the SAS.

Have watched the doc, still, Jack O'Connell does a mean Nordy accent.

I think I can live with that.

I had a bit trouble believing he did what he did against own superior officers. In the movie that is. I wonder what really happened

His biography by Hamish Ross is a definite recommended read.

Watched the first season, good fun.

Now we just have to wait a few years for season 2... ?

The showrunner says he wants to do four, if he can convince the BBC to stump up the cash.

I'd be happy to watch four seasons, but I'm not sure I'll live that long given the way shows work these days. Back in the day you got 30 episodes a year released on a regular basis. Now you get six or eight shows released all at once, you binge them in a few days, and then it might be two-years until you get the next six or eight shows.

I crunched all seasons of '24' inside a month. My brain was fried.

Never seen an episode. Though I am aware of Elisha Cuthbert's existence. ?

I nuked a solid chunk of The Wire in a very short time, so I know how you feel.

Binged this one EPIX through Amazon prime.  Absolutely love it! Looking forward to the next two episodes.  Nice mix of history, action and a bit of comedy. Makes me want to reinstall old Hidden and Dangerous 2!

It definitely was, still one of the best tactical games there is IMHO.  Was hoping we'd get a Hidden & Dangerous 3 someday but never panned out.

OK, that is skirting the fine edge of the No Politics rule.

But since you are bagging on your own countries military, I'll let it slide this once.

However,  lets leave the real world where it belongs.

Todays WWII TV topic was the SAS and the guests (2 former SAS troopers and a historian) touched on their thoughts of the show:

The real world is scary.
