SFC_Scott Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) In this video by Requiem on using the PE-2 bombsight, he discusses accessing the bombsight during mission planning before takeoff. I have been able to do this exactly 1 time. I don't know if it is something I am doing wrong, or if it is a problem with my game. I can access the bombsight in the A-20 as soon as my wheels leave the ground, but not before. Obviously, this prevents me from pre-indexing the data on the sight during mission planning. Help is appreciated. Edited November 9, 2022 by SFC_Scott
R33GZ Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 (edited) My first ever bombing mission was using the A20... I had no idea you could pre index the data. I just assumed that every aircraft was the same lol. Thanks for the tip ? Edited November 10, 2022 by R33GZ 1

When you're on the ground, the camera comes under the surface of the map, in that case protection system disables it. Same with Arado for example.

The A-20 and Arado are tricycle gear while the others are taildraggers. I can see how this would effect the bombsight camera height. I guess the one time it did work for me in the A-20, it must have been a fluke. Maybe the particular airfield I was parked at had the aircraft in just such a position that it allowed me to access the bombsight. I guess on the A-20, the camera height above the map (or ground level) is right at the line. Thanks for the info! I can now move beyond this and get on with my life.... ?
