Hi folks,

I'm pondering whether I should replace my 27inch EIZO with a 38inch curved monitor. This is primarily driven by my home office needs. The new screen will probably run the QHD+ resolution of 3840 x 1600. I don't necessarily want the game to run at that resolution though.  Rather, I might stick to something that fills only a part of the screen (don't want to update my GPU right now). This could open the possibility of displaying a picture of the current map on the remainder of the screen while in-game.  In order for that to work,  I need the option to move the game window off center.

Is that an option with the said resolution? Right now, if I try to run the game in a smaller window, it is always centered and I didn't find a way to move it to one side.  That behavior would pretty much kill the large monitor idea.

What is the max resolution that the game supports?

I don't know what GPU you have. I am driving an LG 34GP950G set at its native resolution of 3440x1440 with an RTX 3080 and averaging around 117FPS with the graphics settings at max. I tried running it at 4K and the frame rate dropped to 40-50 FPS with the graphics maximized. I know this doesn't answer your specific question, but it may help you decide on how to proceed.

I found following section in the startup.cfg.

[KEY = graphics]
      3dhud = 0
      adapter = 0
      bloom_enable = 1
      canopy_ref = 0
      desktop_center = 0

Changing " desktop_center = 0" to "desktop_center = 1" did the trick. Now the game window appears on the top left of the screen. So if I choose to buy a large curved screen without upgrading my gpu, I can run the game on the left portion of the screen and have my map displayed on the remaining surface.

You may find you want to run at that resolution.

Ive got a Lenovo legion 44in curved and the FOV is awesome. Im using a tablet for the map.

With the increased FOV and TrackIR its really good.

I can't go back now to my 55in tv because of it.
