michaelws Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Do I need to print out hotkeys for certain controls? I am using a Thrustmaster T16000M Joystick. I am an older, just turned 74, senior and total newbie to Flying Circus 2. Just bought it today and could sure use some pointers on getting started...without meeting any enemy planes to start with hopefully. Thanks
Nocke Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 What is your timezone? Do you know, have installed, or would be willing to install Discord? I would offer myself then to virtually meet and talk you through the basics. I am situated in Germany, my time zone is CET.
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) Here's a start... Lots more out there. https://youtu.be/b7OcbrHQhjk Very helpful stuff. Edited November 5, 2022 by RNAS10_Mitchell
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 1st program basic plane operations to your stick. Throttle, aileron, rudder, and elevator. Sometimes they get reversed. If they do, just do it again (but push the stick, rudder, etc they opposite way when you assign the key mapping). It might seem difficult at first, but hang in there. You'll get it. If you don't have a separate Throttle, I'd use the small slider at the base of the stick. If you don't have separate rudder pedals, your stick has a twisting function that can be mapped for rudder control. Pay attention to the instructions but if you don't get it right the first time, you can redo easily enough. It does get easier as you gain experience. Be sure and click the save button when done or it won't take effect. Once you get the plane and engine control functions mapped to your stick, go fly a plane and make sure uts working as you want. If so, then start mapping weapons, views, etc. They are all done the same way. Just different sections on the key mapping options.
