michaelws Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I bought IL-2 Sturmovik: Flying Circus – Volume I on July 31 2018. I didn't play it for a couple of years and when I tried to install and run it over a year ago it would not play. I never got any response back then when I submitted a support ticket so I uninstalled. I purchased from 777 Studios. I have activated my key. I don't see where to download the game. Thanks for any help
jollyjack Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) I am not sure if FC1 runs without Stalingrad ... Have you used the IL2_setup_Great_Battles.exe installer as it will re-install DirectX 11 which you will need too. Edited November 5, 2022 by jollyjack
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) Maybe you bought Rise of Flight from 777 Studios instead? Look in your windows file folder to be sure. If you downloaded the game it should be there. This might be helpful: Edited November 5, 2022 by RNAS10_Mitchell
michaelws Posted November 5, 2022 Author Posted November 5, 2022 I went ahead and bought Flying Circus 2 today. It sent me a link to the download page and there it showed my old purchase of FC 1. Anyhow I have the game successfully installed now. Now my problem is finding a guide or tutorial that shows me how to use my Thrustmaster T16000M with the game and then just some basics so I know how to start the engine, etc. Total newbie again after all these years. I will make another thread asking for guidance on learning how to play, how to fly, etc. Thanks for the replies and yes, it looks like I got Rise of Flight from 777.
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) Lots of good youtube stuff out there for that. Requiem and others have some very helpful videos. Suggest you get some offline experience before you try online. You'll enjoy it more that way. But when you do try online, most of the players are very helpful. Definitely practice takeoffs from the ground before you go online. Engine start, mixture and radiator control operations will be required. But the videos cover all that stuff in great detail. As far as joystick programing: map buttons for common stuff first. Trigger, head movements, etc. Once you get that done, you'll figure out what you need the most pretty quickly. Good luck.. Ps.. I have the same stick. I'm not using the thrustmaster software. The game stick maping works just fine imo. Edited November 5, 2022 by RNAS10_Mitchell
