Does Flying Circus 2 require buying IL-2 Sturmovik to run on my PC

I bought  IL-2 Sturmovik: Flying Circus – Volume I on July 31 2018.  I didn't play it for a couple of years and when I tried to install and run it over a year ago it would not play.  I never got any response back then when I submitted a support ticket so I uninstalled.

My questions is, if I purchase Flying Circus 2 will it run on Windows 11 as a standalone game?  I have been an afficionado of WW1 air combat games since the days of the Amiga Computer and would love to try out FC 2.

Also, how do I re-download the original Flying Circus and IL-2 Sturmovik game software?  I have my original email receipt from 1C Game Studios witht he order number and such.

Thanks for any help with these questions.

I know on Steam I had to buy Battle of Stalingrad before I could install Flying Circus.

I would reinstall FC1 and see what happens, you do not need any other modules to play it. FC2 is "Early Access" so you will get a few more planes but the map and full feature set is yet to be released. From the IL2- Store site - "IL-2 Sturmovik: Flying Circus - Volume I is part of the IL-2 Great Battles series of products and can be played as a separate stand-alone product or be integrated with other Great Battles titles such as Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Moscow, Battle of Kuban and Battle of Bodenplatte. Combine all titles to create one big WWI and WWII air and ground combat simulation."

Any module in the series will run as standalone so long as you are not using Steam.

I agree with Patricks - you should try to install FC1 again.

To redownload, go to link below:

https://il2sturmovik.com/account/

You will need to log in with the email account you used to register and your password.

If you  check in Purchases section your FC1 purchase should be confirmed there.

The game software is one integrated download - access it through the Download option.

@RoterTod, you may find some help in the IL-2 Resources post. Perhaps start with these sections:

I hope that helps.

have a look at the virtual squadrons section of the forum. Perhaps post a hello and what you are looking for in there.

There is an IL-2 Discord here - https://discord.gg/8xeJuPzZ that has a Flying Circus channel (under General) and for online play the most active is the FlugPark Discord here - https://discord.gg/MZcPFRN2
