Lusekofte Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 ? The sim is not dead! only news of my interest , as well. Never happened before. Bravo
ST_Catchov Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Isn't it great to get a DD on the most important module in the GB series. I think I'm almost as elated as Luse.

IckyATLAS Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Excellent news. By the way I can imagine that we will get the C47 and maybe just after the Li2 most probably. It would be a pity not to do it. 1
Hotaru_Ito Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Excellent. Great to have updates on this stuff. It'll be fun to get back to WWI with a nice new map and plane, and my great uncle flew C-47s (wrong theater, but still) so I've been looking forward to that one for a long time too. Li-2 was officially announced at the same time as C-47 and the WWI planes, so I think we should still count on that one eventually as well, although I don't think it's actually up for preorder yet.

Avimimus Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Q: Will the FC2 map include AQMB (Advanced Quick Mission Builder)? Q: If yes, will the AQMB air-starts be adjusted to take into account the lower airspeed of WWI aircraft (so that they can still reach the target area quickly - something necessary for it to be a 'quick mission')? Thanks!
Crockett Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Thank you for the information on Flying Circus 2 as it's very welcome to have a timeline! Especially looking forward to the Career mode!
tattywelshie Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Fab work guys, the Dakota and Snipe look bloody marvellous!
Luftschiff Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Some very pretty aircraft on display, thank you devs!
Stickshaker Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Thank you for this update that shows that Il-2 is very much alive, despite the departure of some people. I rely completely on you for WWI sims; for me the most important sim, so I have bought all WWI extra planes. 1 1
Bonnot Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Quote The cargo/passenger cabin windows had gun ports for small arms firing.
DBS Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 both models looking fantastic! I've not tried FC but seeing the work being done I may change that soon. Any sales coming up? ?
kestrel79 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Can't wait to do some online formation flying on D-Day in the C-47 dropping some troops! 2
356thFS_Melonfish Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 That looks like it'll be very fun to shoot down! Wait... i've been wearing roundels recently.

parkerc341 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Wait, so am I going to have to buy FC Vol. II to play a WW1 career mode? I have FC Vol. I and I'm not really that interested by the Vol II planes.

BMA_FlyingShark Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Great stuff. I can't even make up my mind about what I'm looking forward to the most. The Snipe? The C47? The new map? All look very nice. Have a nice day.

From this very informative thread: Spoiler "The map we will build for FC2 will be much larger than our FC1 map and will aim to re-create the huge Western Front battlefield we created in our original WWI title – Rise of Flight. Of course, this map will use our latest map technologies which is currently showcased in our Arras map of Flying Circus: Volume I. This new map will be built in two phases. Phase I which is the Arras Map, was the testbed for making a WWI map in the Sturmovik engine and has been completed. Phases II and III will expand that work to eventually, over two product dev cycles, complete the map. We plan to make multiple seasons for this map to allow maximum opportunities to fly in various weather conditions. Also, once the larger map is completed, we plan to offer it to FC1 users. " 1

So I think that yes, you'll get the big map and career mode. Edited November 4, 2022 by [CPT]milopugdog 1 1

Unfortunately I will not buy any additional aircraft for FC series because I have nothing to do with them. Simply no campaign (career mode) for Single Player. So I don't need any extra planes. I have a lot in MSFS ;). We need career mode if you want to to develop the FC project. Pity but its true for me. Edited November 4, 2022 by YoYo 1 2

From that DD you linked: "In Early Access the players will be able to use the new map in QMB and create single and multiplayer missions. After that we'll have to complete the work on the Flying Circus Career mode and update the map according to the customer feedback." They didn't forget. Obviously it's taking longer than they want, and than we want. But it is coming.
danielprates Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Should be interesting to compare the DC3's cockpit with the one in FSX, as (iirc) they were contemporary.
Atomic_Spaniel Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Snipe looks great. Wing fixes for WWI aircraft are very welcome indeed! 1

YoYo Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 10 hours ago, Gambit21 said: You've been off-planet for a while then I'm gathering? There's been some challenges. And what has changed in the two years since the announcement of Vol.2? Let me remind you that there was no career in Vol.1 and it was an experimental title. Even so, many people were asking for Career Mode (near each page on FC corner we can find few request about this), plus much for the lack of a career mode was a barrier to the purchase. From the beginning of the announcement of Vol.2 it was announced that there will be a division of maps and there will be a career. In January this year (i.e. 10 months ago) it was also announced that there will be new types of missions - recoon and artillery guidance. Still nothing. Also they forgotten to add Arras AQMB to the map (which is also incomprehensible). The translation was that it is not profitable because a career is coming. I know you are joking but the truth is that the title has been abandoned in terms of content from the long time. Even now, it isnt clear whether we will get a career when 1 part of the map (fragment) is released, or we have to wait for all, i.e. 4 parts, to be released, so what year will it be in such a situation, 2025? Therefore, I do not see any point in purchasing additional planes for FC until it is followed by career mode content. If content for Single Player (I fly mostly like this) starts to appear - I'll buy everything for Flying Circus. I spent a lot of time flying in the RoF and it was a great adventure. Those people who remember it perfectly are as disappointed as I am now with this constant waiting (of course, I'm writing about official support, not user-made mods.), and yet the topic of the 1 WW is just as very interesting as well.

Its not a trouble if marketing strategy is taking this fact in count. As you know, project management have changed and, after that, we plan to correct our marketing strategy in that part. 1 1 8
