=38=Tatarenko Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) In spite of the ramblings I send off to Zak, Jason, the bug forum etc about what doesn't work yet, this sim is so great at what does already. I've just spent the whole morning flying teamwork pairs with Patrick Shiva - dive bombing in the Pe-2, flying up the Don and later over the Volga in an IL-2 and dogfights in the Yak-1. We had the best time. In the Pe-2 mission we sorted targets but then I messed up and fragged Patrick, sorry! In the IL-2's we did pretty well bagging AA guns using team tactics and using up left over bombs on stationary planes. For most of the missions our two IL-2's were the only planes with points, none of the Germans had any. We got shot down a bit but overall we came out well ahead. Gumrak AA is killer though! In the Yaks were lost so badly. When the mission finished early, the fabled MrX had 388 of the possible 500 points and a couple of other Germans had the rest. Scary. We were comparing him with Hartmann and Rall. He had 14 kills and no deaths at all. I'm sure it was fantastic to watch from his side! A few shots attached. BTW we got no points for the static plane kills. Pity. Edited July 23, 2014 by =38=Tatarenko 2
Pringliano Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Thx for sharing! Great shots, and yes, great experience online !!!
Finkeren Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Propably TMI, but in this heat it's likely I'm not wearing clothes when I play BoS either. Just a fair warning to the people I meet online
Finkeren Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I'd propably get shot down less often, if the first thing people saw, when they got on my six o'clock were my pale, naked cheeks. Anyway, It's great to hear from people who are starting up with real coordinated teamwork online. I'm still feeling miserably alone when flying online (Looking at my posts in this thread, I really wonder why )
Pringliano Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) Finkeren, count me in for a squadron! "Buster Chickens" would be a possible Sqd Tag! Only problem is that I usually fly yak-1s, but I can start training in other types too :-) Edited July 23, 2014 by jcomm
Finkeren Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 That's fine. I usually fly La-5. You can be the bait.
Finkeren Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Finkeren, count me in for a squadron! "Buster Chickens" would be a possible Sqd tag. I think we should name the squad "Cheating Unscrupulous Nasty Trolls" just to see how long we got to keep the acronym squad tag. 1
Densetsu Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I have no experience dogfighting so I decided to hop in the gunner seat of a few planes. This is one of the most immersive sim experiences I've had, even more so than 1946. Flying 20 meters above the ground with Messerschmitts in my gunner sight and then seeing allied Lagg support come souring past our flanks to make the kill was pretty amazing. I'll need to buy a joystick and practice flying, but being a gunner is still great.
71st_AH_Hooves Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Fantastic work tatar! I like level bombing in the pe2. Getting low is asking for a flack sandwich!
