Rjel Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 All afternoon I’ve been pondering the news of Jason’s departure. Other big names from the past of flight sims popped into my mind. Guys like Gilman Louis and Daymon Slye who were household names to many of us then and have long since disappeared. I’m hoping Jason doesn’t completely sever his relationship with us here. 1 1

I take full credit of course. I just showed the team what we needed to do. The team did the hard work of building it. My technical contributions are few, but it takes both sides to make it successful. Thank you so much guys. Was my pleasure. Onward and upwards! Jason 16 34
354thFG_Drewm3i-VR Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Jason, in the end you did a very good job and should be very proud! Normandy is a major success and all of the fixes to navlights, DM, and propeller textures were very much needed and appreciated!
TheSNAFU Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 (edited) Jason, I don’t take too many opportunities to weigh in on things here but your departure is something that warrants a few words. It has been clear to me for years that you are a true simmer at heart. Your commitment to this hobby of ours has been obvious from the start. Your guidance has led the IL2 brand to heights it would not have risen to without your expertise and leadership. You have been firm but it seemed to me that you were always protective of the mission you and the team were on. While I have disagreed with you on a few things I always respected your positions. Thank you for all you’ve done for the sim community and for this great game. If it wasn’t for you and others like you, we would all be flying some wacky contraption on a PS5 and not a true to life P51 over Europe. Best of luck to you Jason Salute! =621=Samikatz Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 IMO this is the best experience you can have with a HOTAS to date, and in my time playing this sim (earliest screenshot I have seems to be from Christmas 2014...) its gotten nothing but hugely better with every release. I've gotten every aircraft expansion in early access since Kuban and part of my confidence in doing that is the transparency and honest communication of the dev team, especially Jason. Hope the rest of the team keep up the excellent work and here's to many more years of this game!
Jade_Monkey Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Thank you, thank you, thank you Jason for all your contributions to the genre and this platform in particular. Your passion and dedication was crucial to get us where we are at today in this niche hobby of ours. Wish you all the best in your next endeavor, and i hope we get to hear from you again.

percydanvers Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Thank you for everything you have done for combat flight simming Jason! IL-2 is in a great place thanks to your efforts, and I wish you the best in everything going forward! We will miss you here!

Jason I had to describe you in one phrase today, and ended up with "He is an enabler". Not to dismiss teams hard work, but you were making this effort possible and applicable. Whatever you do next, they'd be lucky to have you.
CAFulcrum Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Nonono, no rest for the wicked! We've all said our thanks, now it's time to start demanding he team up with all of the other great combat-sim creators to create an all-star team of super-combat-sim-makers and get to work on the next big thing. It could be like the A-team or Charlie's Angels, all they need is a van (Jason gets to be Charlie of course; the dev team might not like the tight outfits but that's the business).
Stonehouse Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Best of luck and best wishes, you'll be missed!
IckyATLAS Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 (edited) As an in every orchestra, you need a director. He does not play an instrument but without him no way to bring together all the players to reach a common musical perfection goal. And Jason you have been a hell of a director with your orchestra of code players to generate a sky-high sim music for nearly 10 years. Hats down, salute to you, you will be missed. Comes Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Thank You so much! You can really be proud of what you have achieved with IL-2 and RoF. RoF brought me back to FlightSimming and PC Gaming in General. After the (at least at launch) disappointing CloD I was so happy that a new IL-2 from the RoF Creators was coming. I have had many great hours with IL-2 since. I wish you all the best!!
Talisman Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 You have been the best of the best Jason. Be well, be happy and have fun. Talisman
