French is one of the options to select in the installation languages. IL2GB is localized for 7 languages including Chinese, English, French, German, Polish, Russian and Spanish.

Well if you want to ask upstairs - I'm curious about when BON single missions will come.  If I remember right, the BP missions didn't come until months after release.

But hey - lol, no pitchfork here - just wondering.....

"Someone" has to have time to make those missions after the map is released. At a conservative estimate of 10 to 20 hours per mission, plus time to do research, that's over 200 hours of work. How many hours does the average person work, if they are employed full time? 160 hours a month more or less. If they work part time, I would say more like half that. So once those missions are assigned to be made, which may or may not have happened yet, you're looking at 1 to 3 months to be written. Then they have to be localized to the above mentioned 6 other languages which tends to take 3 or 4 weeks.

If it all works out efficiently, they may be released by the Christmas holidays.

Partially translated.

The cinematics for example are not subtitled (I understand that the audio is not dubbed, I have no problem with that).
The descriptions and characteristics of the planes for example can sometimes have 50% of the text in French and 50% in English.

But this is not new, it is not unique to BoN. It is however a point that I would like the developers not to neglect.

I was not aware of the incomplete localizations, thanks for pointing that out.

The plan is for it to be a moderated Q/A. Like I said, details are still being worked out.

My list is just topics that are getting lots of traction and they can look over in advance.

We will be publishing the Q/A and topic guidelines shortly.

Ugh...watching idiot NFL players talk about those...made me even more glad I don't watch that anymore.

I'm dumber for knowing what an NFT is now.

@ No_Face.  Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm not sure what can be done about various translations, but I will add that to my list. It never hurts to ask.

Simple question for the stream, I know a flyable 4 engine bomber is pretty much off the table but is there any possibility of at least an Ai B17 or B24?

I guess a flyable B25 or B26 is more likely but a four engine bomber would be great to see at some point.

One more question if possible.

I find the smoke, fire and explosion effects are probably the weakest part of the visual effects, particularly the very, very thick black smoke looking almost cartoonish. I remember Jason saying the effects were due for an extensive overhaul but never gave a timeline.

My question simply is; Wl there be an overhaul of the visual effects at some point soon.... maybe the next module?

also fire, smoke and explosion effects in TC are not good enough compared to other tank sims and games.

Agee with this. The original Il-2 didn't have flyable four engine bombers, but the AI versions were extremely useful in creating some really cool missions. Flying escort or intercept would be a very different experience if we had four engine bombers' and large formations.

Unless I didn't get a joke, you're mixing up two fellas? I believe Loft had nothing to do with Pacific Fighters back in the day, Ilya Shevchenko was the man behind that project.

Not so worried about the unlocks, more the fantasy as to what's coming next. Remember everything he promised would be in Pacific Fighters? Half of it wasn't. Including the yacht. Yacht! Dream on.

Don't confuse Albert with Oleg.

Most likely not before that announced 9th of November stream. Lets give the guys a chance. I still know BoS in its old original version and it was a hell of a lot better back then than that piece of crap Olegs CloD was before Blitz came out. So lets see what their future focus and plans with the franchise will be.

Maybe because I'm not that smart.

My apologies.

Not confusing Albert with Oleg - although I could indeed be confused ?. I was sure that Loft was the main man in charge under Oleg. So what was Ilya Shevchenko's handle? Someone left suddenly after the release, IIRC, because Oleg felt they hadn't delivered.

I just hope you plan on actually revealing something instead of dancing around what people want to ask and know. Also hope someone asks about sales.

Luthier (Ilya Shevchenko) was responsible for Pacific Fighters, and also CloD. Also abandoned DCS WW2, bit of a pattern there.

@Wardog5711 If your actually collecting questions for the stream - are there any plans to tackle time dilation?

Not only would this be a necessary prestep to create larger encounters (maybe even strategic at some point) but in the recent release try to attack the beachhead in career. The vast amount of AAA reduces my game speed to about 20%.

Aha thanks, definitely mixing up Luthier and Loft. ? Apologies to Loft for that one.

Potential sale events was on my list of things already submitted. But keep in mind, this first event is only one hour long. There is not going to be time for everyone to pour out their hearts and get answers.  I have not seen the overview yet, but I would expect the bulk of the time being spent on the next module. The Q/A will probably follow.

It's necessary for even smaller, for tactical encounters.

Time Dilation a huge problem, and has been crippling mission design for years and there's been zero public acknowledgement of the problem.

Contrary to what I've heard filter down from the team... it's not just a matter of 'too much going on in the mission.' although I understand why someone might come to this conclusion if they haven't tested the problem extensively as I have.

The problem is more complex than that and it seems (not being a programmer myself) it's in the heart of the code.

Locking this temporarily. We are not going to eight year old videos. There is little relevance and it's being used to slag a developer in violation of Rule 6. It will be reopened tomorrow after the ghouls and goblins are done with gathering loot.

Compile your questions for an information dump then.

OK, did a rough clean up. Enough to re-open. I will continue to review the last couple of pages tomorrow. Cautiously re-opening for the moment.

I've never seen the time dilation thing, must just be a career thing? Haven't seen it in AQMB or QMB. I barely play SP other than AQMB or QMB, the last SP career that was interesting/worth playing for me was RBII/3D.

Haven't seen it in my MiG-3 career I play very sporadically but in a few dozen missions never seen this issue. It would be interesting if there was a mission that could be built to demonstrate it, or if there is one available to download?

Depending on what's going on in the mission (not necessarily because of a huge number of units) it may not be occurring, or it's happening at a rate that you're not picking up on. You may not notice an extra 7 seconds per minute. Not surprised that you don't see it in the quick missions.

I had to work hard at eliminating it from Hell Hawks etc.

Questions;

Engine optimization and upgrade so carriers won't be a taboo in a year 2023 and in this gaming age?

Amount of AI units bringing performance to it's knees making "Great battles" great?

Torpedo bombers, medium bombers or even heavy bomber?

Time dillation?

At least PTO land based battles?

I’d like to know the team’s position on generating revenue by adding collector aircraft for theaters that are already complete, for example Stalingrad, Normandy and Bodenplatte etc.

Also, after nearly a decade of development, what role will existing content and assets such as maps and theaters play in future development plans?

Thanks.

Would like to add to Q&A list:
Is there any plans to focus on overall terrain graphics improvement? I'm spoiled with MSFS and IL-2 GB looks to me a bit cartoonish on this sense.

Another Q would be: "Any chance to still get Air Marshall feature in any foreseeable future in the GB?

You could say there are 2 aspects to any project: vision and execution.

Execution in BoX has always been a long but steady slog onwards and upwards. While we can debate the pacing and timing of the improvements, no one will say there haven't been many. Almost a decade on the game is far ahead of where it was. I can't recall any missteps where something took a step backwards, only where the step forwards took longer than we'd have liked.

Vision, however, is stickier. Before Jason took the reins, I think many would agree it seemed a bit questionable what the vision exactly was. Once he was able to influence that vision strongly, BoX became more of the CloD/46 successor we wanted. The series has had continued success, if perhaps less spectacular than some would wish.

I believe I speak for many when I say we don't want the future vision to retread old (long abandoned) ground. DCS WWII and War Thunder occupy extreme edges of the combat flight market, we don't need BoX to swerve sharply towards competing directly with either. After expending considerable resources to making this series what it is, to attempt to compete with either of those more directly, splitting the customer base of that product and likely alienating a large portion of the customer base of this one while requiring a large reinvestment to do that would be unwise.

We don't want to spend $80 for a P-38 in BoX. We also don't want to be able to get it for "free" by flying 100 missions against half the Luftwaffe. While we want long-desired improvements to things like AI, coop MP campaign/career, and visuals in BoX, we want it to remain BoX. Sell me more planes, sell me more theaters, I will pay for them. Do NOT take BoX 2022 and throw it away.

If there is a new vision forward, let it be a brand new series and let BoX, like RoF, 46, and CloD before it, become a "legacy" product that is maintained but no longer actively developed. I have all 4 installed on my PC, although I admit BoX gets more time than the other 3 combined. I would rather the BoX series in 2025 be exactly what it is today with the same content and flaws than have it be something unrecognizably (and not in a good way) different because a few people claimed that was "better."
