Level of detail inside the planes

While fumbling around with the F10 (save quickview) button in VR, I got to experience something that probably isn't intended but nonetheless incredibly rewarding, and I thought I'd share.

 

If you move through the aircraft, you can actually see the internals of the aircraft. In my case, it was the BF109-E7, but I was surprised to see the level of detail there was INSIDE the plane. The machine guns, the bolts, and the airframe - they are all there.

 

It gave me a huge appreciation for the work that has gone into this simulation. Ill try to take some screenshots and post.

Yeah, the P-47 has a secret compartment packed with Betty Grable and Rita Hayworth nudie pics.

 

Not to be confused with the liquor and cigarette smuggling compartments. There's also a cage for gamecocks.

 

Might as well put that internal space to good use.

They vary by model but the Yak 1b for instance does not actually have an engine.  This is not untypical.

Ah! Thank you for clearing that up; the fact that the already rather large plane is by default stuffed with alcohol, tobacco, erotica and whatnot might explain the somewhat idiosyncratic handling characteristics. The USAAF should figure out their priorities, either you commit to winning the war or you focus on this pre-NASCAR-style airborne bootlegging business.

this is why servers dont alow costum skins, its just to easy to edit them to make airplanes transperent like this, removing  engine sudenly makes gunnery in high angles no problem

Yep, that’s why I made this video originally; to demonstrate why some servers banned custom skins.

This is really cool, is there mod for that? It would be really fun to just to see the inside of the plane.
