[Warship]MidnightLightnin Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 I have been looking for a throttle for some time, tried the TWCS but I have relatively short fingers and found it too bulky and awkward to use. Just wondered whether the Virpil throttle would be any better, anyone with small hands or short fingers use one? Is this throttle ok for IL2? Thanks
BladeMeister Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Love my CM3. I have medium if not large hands and I have to move my hand around to access all buttons. Honestly I don't think there is a big enough hand to just use the CM3 like you would a Saitek x52 throttle let's say. Again I really love my CM3 and have really gotten a feel for positioning my hand where I need it when I need it. One thing is for sure, the detent release levers would be a real stretch for a small handed person to use. Virpil builds top of the line quality and for that I am willing to adapt and am quite pleased with my CM3. S!Blade<>< 2
Lusekofte Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 All throttles with cm3 amount of buttons , hat switches and sliders are big It comes with a price. I have big hands, relative. Size 11 gloves can be a tad small and I need to rotate the hand a little to reach everything GLV throttles FW 190 seems to me would fit you well maybe someone will sell you theirs He is not producing atm because of the wa.. sorry military operation 1
hsthhsth Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Kanttorin makes throttle Throttle Consoles | Kanttorin Kone that has so many switches/rotaries/knobs that you can adapt for flightsims. Maybe not cheap but excellent quality!

I think small hands or not you will appreciate the quality and flexibility of the CM3. You will come to love it after a little use and experimentation. Have fun. S!Blade<><

Would you mind sharing your profile/how you set up your binds? I'm specifically having trouble figuring out how I want to bind prop RPM, fuel mix, while ideally keeping the main split throttle as engine 1 and engine 2 throttle. Right now I have the flap lever on RPM. I'd like to set one of the encoder dials as a virtual axis for mixture but even when following the youtube tutorial that was recently posted I'm struggling to get IL2 to recognize the virtual axis. BladeMeister Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Unfortunately(fortunately for me) I also have the Virpil SharKA 50 panel which has 4 more axis levers, so I run my split throttle CM3 and then 2 for Prop pitch and 2 for mixture on the SharKA50. I am afraid I can't be much help on only using the CM3 as my setup is totally different. S!Blade<><

Just trying to set up my new CM3 but don't know where to start - do you have a link for the you tube video you mention?
