1Sascha Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Since I just spent 40 minutes trying to figure this one out - and since this seems to be a new thing with Steam, cause I never ran into it before - I thought I'd leave a thread here for others who might encounter the same oddity. Just added a 1TB Samsung 980 M.2 to my system to dump all of my larger game installations onto (my 970 Evo Plus system drive was really getting full). Drive was set up correctly and worked as expected in Windows but when I tried to set up a Steam-folder on the new drive, I got stuck. The dialogue would let me choose the drive alright, but there was no way to proceed afterwards... here's what it looked like: After some minutes of freaking out, fruitlessly looking for solutions on the web, etc, I put up my problem on the HOTAS discord I use. While typing up everything there, the cogs in my head started to grind. As you can see, there's no way to proceed out of the dialogue after I'd selected my drive... almost like something was missing or cut off. So I went back into Steam settings and found the "scale text and icons to match monitor settings"-switch. It's in the "Interface"-section, just under the skin selection entry. Sure enough, it was enabled on my system, so I disabled it, restarted Steam and ... Ta-daa! The weird thing is that I don't use any sort of exotic resolution or hardware setup. Just a single, plain old 32'', 16:9, 1440p Iiyama monitor I bought earlier in the year. Hope this will help someone in the future - but perhaps it was just me being dumb and/or slow today or something... Cheers! Sascha 1
