Apparently the clipped wing version will have the recon equipment. Whether it will have any function is unknown.

According to Wikipedia there were 24  marks of Supermarine Spitfire ,  plus many sub-variants.....

The BF 109 has perhaps a bit less,  so the future is ??????????

The Mk XIV which is the last version used in WWII, unless we see any Seafires if I'm correct... so maybe some earlier variants may be included depending on which way the wind blows?

There is the Bf-109G-10 but it wouldn't bring much difference since we already have the K-4. Then again, I don't know if it served much on the Western front.

So this Spitfire we'd be getting would mostly have a very very short career span.

There are actually only very few planes with the given theaters we have right now. Maybe He-162, Ta-152, B-26 Invader with the current theaters...These had short services.

The only possible theater next that could bring variety planes is Mediterranean front and the Pacific front.

I'm not too worried about a proliferation of Spitfires, myself. The only reason we have so many 109s and 190s is that those were basically the only two single-engine fighters the Germans used, so pretty much every module has to have one since they're supposed to work as standalone games. With the Spitfire, Med/Italy could get by without one and East '45 obviously wouldn't need one.

The bubble-top XIV isn't what I would have picked for a collector plane personally, but I still think it'll be a cool addition to the lineup, and I get why it made a good training project for a new modeler. I've always liked the looks of the bubble-top Spitfires, even if between the Griffon engine, clipped wings, and canopy they don't really look like Spitfires anymore.

East '45 would have a bunch of Soviet late-war planes we don't have yet. Yak-3, La-7, Tu-2, Il-10, and maybe P-39Q is a plausible Allied lineup there, but apart from the 109G-10 and 190A-9 I'm not sure what we'd get for Axis options. Ju-188 maybe? Ju-87G? Fw-189? He-162? No idea, especially since I'm not sure what was used on the Eastern front. It's fun to speculate, though.

I believe that would be a ballet of spitfires, or maybe it's a cast...  ;)

Anyone complaining about too many Spitfires will be answerable to me. ?

I have to believe that bracing the machine gun tripod against your groin would be suboptimal.  The Blackburn Roc of machine gun mounts might be an apt description.

I suspect that pulling the trigger might be suboptimal anyway, regardless of how the gun is braced. Compared to its African cousins, the Indian elephant is a relatively placid beast, but there are limits, and I doubt it (she, I think?) would appreciate the noise, what with the proximity to those ears...

Dumbo goes to war.   She looses energy in the turns, but her dive rate is amazing.  Rock solid frame and wings.   ?

oh, I’m sure there are many reasons why that is a bad idea.  I’m just going with the bad idea the would hit first, so to speak.

The winds were blowing East/West  for such a long time.....maybe it is time to change, BoN first step to expand !

North/South variants as a mix to dream of, ....provided it includes a F4U ?

Nah, that's the 109s.  The 190's are a wake.

That makes sense - with all the uncertainty in the community why communicate about the future?

The sky is not falling, but no DD today is disappointing. This would have been a good time to inject just a little tidbit of the ongoing work. It is what it is. Maybe next week.

They are on hold for me until they announce something new to pre-order anyway.

Watching the gunnery of people on Youtube, that makes perfect sense.

I'm glad to see a few other folks have not lost their sense of humor.

But on a serious note, I do have another pic for those times where there WILL be a DD.  I'm looking forward to throwing it up whenever I get the heads up one is coming.

Everyone here will know shortly after I do. But how often that will be is not up to me.

LOL. I hope the updates aren't that bad!! I might have to start skipping breakfast on update days.

Anyhow, since it is the Friday before Halloween and I'm looking forward to a fun weekend, I'll just leave this here.
