We cannot assign pilots as career leader

When I generate a campaign with the Mosquito, 605th Sqn, April 1944, when loading the initial screen (see images) I can select missions to lead and add the pilots I consider necessary for the mission.

 

But, when I exit the campaign and re-enter it, the add pilots button has disappeared and there can only be one aircraft, which I can choose or not.
 

So, as soon as you leave the campaign after having flown a mission (or none at all), the possibility to assign pilots and form the flights when you re-enter the campaign is ruined.
 

It's a disaster if you want to fly as a leader.... Single plane formations?
