An easy way to test this is when you are in the hangar in the menus when you start the game. Things to look at that are affected is the texture of the grates on the floor, the stencilled letters/lines and the cracked paint texture of the walls of the hangar. The setting inside the OpenXR Toolkit is relevant only when upscaling is active, it applies a similar setting as above to the textures so they have more detail when the image is upscaled but if you don't use upscaling then it doesn't do anything. Can anybody compare mip map bias from Openxr toolkit when fsr upscaling is enabled to that one from the invidia? Which one works better? I only use 95% fsr sharpening in Openxr toolkit without fsr upscaling, and mip map to "ALL" ....is it enabled in that way or not?
[CPT]Crunch Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 NIS if you want to actually see contacts at any sort of distance with a high powered Nvidia card, although FSR wins slightly if your only interested in the scenic route with blissful SA ignorance. That's been the experience with our group, mostly running 3080's.

[CPT]Crunch Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Currently use the in game sharpen, and no more than 10% with the tool or a white halo forms around objects, air and ground, makes cities look like crap. I find the in game sharpen best if you don't go scaling to far down. For my G-2 3080 combo roughly 7,500,000 pixels means 90 fps, anything more begins to decline and would require lowering settings. Multiple ways to get those pixels, one will usually look slightly better, test them out, than stick with it. Every set up is a bit different, no single magic bullet. Too many combos, when you get excellent spotting and great visuals learn how to quit, at least until the next major update wrecks something, LoL. 1
McFly60 Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Perhaps a stupid question: in NVidia Control Panel and NVidia Profile Inspector, in the settings tab dedicated to IL2, is it necessary to enter IL2.exe or IL2LAUNCH.exe? Or is it the same? Thanks for your support, I'm learning a lot from posts of you guys.

McFly60 Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Yes, I did it. But after I hit the icon with the green "+", I searched for IL2.exe in my IL2 folder and entered that. Maybe I made a mistake? Also: I have both NVvidia Control Panel and NVidia Profile Inspector active. Which of the two dominates in case of conflicting settings? You'll probably think I'm a little confused ... you're right, I am!?
firdimigdi Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 If you pointed that profile to il-2.exe it's ok, you basically did what it was already doing. Both programs affect the same things only inspector does it in more detail. You should only open one or the other to avoid confusion as changes made in one will not show up in the other unless you reload the profile. You do not need to have any of them open for your chosen settings to take effect. As long as the profile is saved then the GPU driver will apply it when the associated game executable is active (and only then). 1
