exact village smoke location ?

Tried to place a village smoke loop effect on deck of a (docked) Linked Entry ship, guns must fire ...

Purpose is camouflage for them Nasty bombers.

 

Seems it does not work as it's location is always a good 10m off.

Does not matter where you put the effect itself, is this a new 5.002b bug ?

I don't think you can place anything on the deck of a ship..

It’s not new. The smoke is not exactly where the icon is. You will have to place it with trial and error. I think you can adjust the smoke to deck level without a problem, but worst case, it will be generated inside the hull

I put a smoke effect on the end of a Pier and raised it.
