I dunno, I have a 34" IPS panel monitor that's .2325mm pitch with 3440x1440 res and I can spot fine. Previous monitor was a 27" TN panel with 2.33mm with 2560x1440 res and had no issues with that as well. Maybe eyesight isn't as good as some think, or the monitors aren't as good at color differentiation, or some combination of things but when the increased visibility size came it looked a bit ridiculous to me - especially when using the "zoom" as the contacts decreased in size at a certain point.

This is a performance thread anyway, so that's my last post on this subject.

I have also been here since day one literally, and i just went through an exensive eye test due to a new job, my vision is better than 100% :)
Spotting on 1440p and 4k (i have tested with a friends monitor) is MUCH worse than 1080p. Can you do it (yes) does it prevent you from playing the game (no) is it annoying and frankly an absurd limitation in 2022 (yes), and there is 0 way i'll comment more on this, as you said its not the purpose of the thread. + Its a circlejerk with more (feelings) than facts at this point.

My performance is certainly worse during dogfights, extremely noticeable looking down the sights. FPS is stable in the 80-100 range but it 'feels' bad, lots of stutters

Speaking from my experience in VR (I do not own a high refresh rate monitor) of this issue: if you switch to the chase-cam (F4) then you'll notice that only planes, including your own plane, are ghosting - the scenery/terrain renders smoothly. Switching back to cockpit camera and the motion is again juddery. From this it seems as if the planes are not rendered in the correct frequency and since the cockpit camera is attached to your plane it too ends up being juddery causing the whole gameworld to appear like it's stuttering. Another clue is that looking around the cockpit is perfectly smooth while this is occurring, if the framerate was actually reduced then it would also affect the motion of your head in game and this is not the case.

Yeah i can see planes ghosting and this sounds like the problem.

I've always had great performance in VR using multiplayer - unfortunately the new Normandy campaign on Combat Box is such a stutter fest I find myself going back to Finnish.

No problem here playing on ultra at 1440 on a 144mhz 32" curved 'flat' screen. Don't even have as high specs as some of you... 12gb rtx 3060 and ryzen 5. I find 60 fps is fine... really no problems. I don't know why I would want it any higher?

I get time dilation when playing sp with high density. But medium works great and seems to have plenty of ground forces.... so I dunno, I feel for you guys having problems, but I just don't seem to experience anything out of the ordinary

Something to do with VR?

I should add... I don't have BoN or BoBp yet, so that may change things possibly
