Napping-Man Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I think the infantry (as cool as it may be) is tanking my FPS. I know you can get rid of it by selecting "low" ground units, but that also gets rid of roaming convoys (which make good targets). Is there any way to just remove the walking infantry, but keep the Ground units on Medium or High? 1
VBF-12_Stele Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 I'm running into the same trouble too. I have my PWCG settings set to low but I noticed I'm taking some hits on the cpu. I play mostly to attack targets, but at this setting I'm constantly being sent to attack infantry only.
Hotaru_Ito Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 I'd like to see this too--infantry is cool but a real FPS killer compared to other targets, would be nice to be able to play on medium or high ground density but still disable them. In the meantime, if the front line itself isn't your target, you can sometimes move your waypoints in PWCG to avoid going near the front line action (the red and/or blue arrows on the map). If you can stay far enough away, they never spawn and never hurt your FPS.
Dusty926 Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Please pardon the bump, but I wanna echo this sentiment; The ground war is something I wanna make more active, but especially in FC, medium ground density uses quite a lot of Infantry, and it bogs my CPU down a hell of a lot. I'm curious if it would be possible to slap it in the, "CPU Intensive Units" category, or even make a whole new option for their density alone.
PatrickAWlson Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 This is on the to do list. I am working FC tactical codes right now. Reducing infantry is next. 4
Odovacer Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 (edited) Hopped on PWCG + FC for first time in awhile after doing a bunch of updates. My previous campaign settings were saved. When I ran my next mission though, the whole thing slowed down. Now, I can lower my graphics settings as I had them cranked up and was doing fine in 8 vs. 8 furballs (130 fps+), but the game really slowed down with the PWCG mission . Couldn't see anything as there weren't that many aircraft engaged, but then I saw this while over Lille: and this: Quite the blue wave!! I'm going to reduce the ground units to minimum for now and the graphics settings for playing PWCG. That should help in the meantime. Edited May 28, 2023 by Odovacer Spelling, Clarity
