=DW=_Tauront Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Hello, Ive made already several videos in IL-2 so let me share my latest one: About recording the voice, its recorded after the mission with SRS "audio preview" but I also modified it in post production to make it more immersive. If you guys got any feedback about it please share it with me. Dont blame me about missing almost all missiles, it was made in VR and I forgot to close one eye Enjoy! 6 1 1 3
IckyATLAS Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Nice work. I liked it, but the large white text that replicates what is said at the radio, just destroy the immersivity. You are in a semi dark environment with little light and so these bright white letters are blinding and kill the atmosphere.

I use closed captions all the time..........? 1
=DW=_Tauront Posted October 19, 2022 Author Posted October 19, 2022 Thanks for feedback. Ill try to make closed captions by youtube next time so you will be able to turn subtitles on and off. I put them myself on video because I thought my voice wasnt clear, also english isnt my native language, so I thought it could be difficult to understand. ? 3

IckyATLAS Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 It's a digression but related to the subtitle question, and maybe to make a point. First, I would like to mention that what I say below does not apply to people with major hearing problems, and for whom subtitles are the only solution. In Switzerland we have three official languages (French, German, Italian) and four National languages (as before + Romanche). It is no wonder that once I saw a film with three lines of subtitles in different languages and in bright white. Good if we can switch them off, but in a movie you cannot. In India I went to the movies and saw a film that was in Hindi (the title of the film was PK). Btw I do not understand a word in Hindi. And because it was in a public cinema there were no subtitles at all. You cannot imagine how hilarious and funny that film is and at the same time an incredibly well-made critic of the Indian society's religious mix. If you have the possibility, then give it a shot. I just watched the film and missed the details but perfectly understood all of it. Years later I saw the film again with subtitles in English and it brought nothing more to the film. This is to say that sometimes subtitles do not really bring something more, you do not need to understand what is said but just the tones and sounds and mainly the visual story (if well done) is largely enough to be immersed and understand what is happening and the message if there is one.

I completly get that but if there is really minority that doesnt understand, but yet wish to know I will add subtitles for them cause thats not really much work with it. It costs me around 5-10 minutes that I can afford and you can always turn them off. Edited October 19, 2022 by ACG_Tauront 1
