Career mode trigger problems

I have not been able to play career mode correctly. I can go to a target area and engage the target objective but the target marker never registers that I arrived a the waypoint marker. I don't know if it's a glitch or if I'm not doing something right, but the mission is never "accomplished".

I think it depends on the mission type:

• Ground attack requires you to drop ordinance on the target area. I've noticed early Russians sometimes like to hang around the target area until all ammo has been expended and the Luftwaffe have arrived to massacre most of the flight.
• Escort appears to require to keep escorted losses above a certain number.
• Intercept requires shooting or damaging at least some of the escort targets, not the fighter escort.

Any way, I always get a message that objective is completed or failed.

 

Also, are you flight leader?

If you are, try as not as the ai flight leader seems to know what he is doing to at least correctly get to and engage the target
