Did the sun get worse?

I was flying on CB. I don't know if the sun has gotten worse or if it was the cloud cover. But I seriously could not even fly in the direction of the sun. It literally gave me a headache right behind the eyes.

 

Now, I do not know how to post documentation of a headache. If you want, I can scan the receipt of an Excedrine purchase. But really, to the devs, if the sun is so intense that it literally causes the player pain and discomfort, don't you think it is time to actually listen to the players?

edit:  you might look into turning the gamma down either in the game options or in the startup.cfg itself.

can you please share your game's graphic settings? Do you use HDR? What is your gamma setting? I do not have any problems with the sun...

Yes, sun glare is still way overdone!

Would be great to have an option for sun glare intensity. Personally, I love it the way it is, it really makes me squint just like it would in real life. But if it was actually giving me headaches, I'd definitely want to be able to turn it down. I disable all turbulence in flight sims for exactly this reason: it gives me headaches, especially on timewarp. Which reminds me that career mode missions don't respect the "no wind" realism setting.

I can not remember at this time how the gamma was set. Probably at either .8 or .9. This is my usual setting unless night flights where I bump it up enough to not fly into a unseen object. But if I forget to turn it back down, it is instantly obvious because nothing looks right. 

 

I have tried all the other "fixes" I could find online. Because I am not one of those people who just lazily posts issues on a forum hoping for a fix without doing my fair share to try to find the answer myself first.

Mods are problem if playing in MP.
