Crash upon startup 5.001. Solved.

Over the last week I've been unable to load IL2 due to a crash upon startup. It would happen instantly with task manager showing it as 'Not responding'

 

The bug happens with the start up file "startup.cfg".. I simply deleted it and the game now loads.

 

However, the game started to crash upon loading again so thought that it might be a issue with the gfx settings.

 

The culprit seems to be enabling Fullscreen. 

 

That said, those that get the crash, change the following line in the startup.cfg, located in "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data"

 

    Change from fullscreen = 1 to fullscreen = 0

 

Fixed.
