Snoop_Hogg Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Have been playing through the Normandy career mode for the first time, finally got to D-Day, super excited, my squadron's got their invasion stripes on and everything, I pass over Omaha beach and... nothing. There's not one single unit on or around the beach. Seriously? What's going on it's 4.30pm on 6.6.1944 there should be landing craft all over the place. Really disappointing.
1CGS Regingrave- Posted October 14, 2022 1CGS Posted October 14, 2022 What squadron and what mission type was that? Last time I've looked at it, all the ships was there, as well as the troops they're landing once at the beach. Do you have a _gen.mission left?
Snoop_Hogg Posted October 14, 2022 Author Posted October 14, 2022 Yeah I saved the mission file, will send it on. I was flying a bridge bombing mission (quite far inland, but really that shouldn't matter) with 355th FS P-51Bs
Halon Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 Not just me then, tried both (two was also rather underwhelming! Not exactly the longest day!) missions 609 squadron was flying on D-Day flying Typhoons, not so much as a dinghy bobbing around in the channel. There was a bit of smoke along the coast near the mission objective around Utah on the second mission at about 17:30hrs (vehicle column attack). But the first mission, at 06:00hrs on a armed recon mission the whole region was barren.
DBS Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 Same experience for me, 19 squadron flying Armed recon on D-day, not a single unit around the beach head or in the sea. I'm quite sure I had it set to 'dense' also. Remember when sprites were a thing? wish they were in this.
