Wonderful new ships, with white mast lights - but turning them off?

Got some of the new ships harbored but as Linked Entry as they need to shoot at some incoming enemy bombers.

Alas it's night-time ..... How can you turn off them darn white lights?

For what I know you cannot. We already asked this long time ago to be able to switch them off, but it was lost in translation.

If you build a mission at night without the moon, then you have luck because enemy ships will tell you where they are to help you sink them better ?
