Rickrick123 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 At times it looks like a slide show. Anybody else have this. The game is unplayable. !!
kendo Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Try rebooting PC if you haven't already. All good here with performance. 1

MAJ_stug41 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 It is actually "Lagg" and it has always been appalling. Oh you mean game performance, actually got better for me. 3

tattywelshie Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 I've noticed a noticeable drop in FPS, playing on VR on a Q2. Was at a steady 70+fps before 5.0002, now down to a steady 44fps after the patch! Anyone else suffering? I've tried old and new careers and different maps and it's all the same!
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) No change here. Always has and still does perform better than expected on my aging equipment. ? Edited October 13, 2022 by RNAS10_Mitchell
oc2209 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I play on an Etch-A-Sketch powered by an obese hamster in a rusty wheel. No problems here. 1
Luftschiff Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 No issues in VR for me, performance still stellar and I'm on an old 1070. 1

VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Do you have an EVGA graphics card and use PrecisionX1 by chance?

VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 PrecisionX1 is EVGA's GPU software control panel. I have experienced slowdowns after upgrades in the past, be it OS happening at the same time as game. It turned out the Target Power (boxed number in upper right in screenshot, not the number over slider) had been reduced to below 100%. This caused fps to go to a slide show. You may want to check what your 3080 speed is set for, if you haven't already.

VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I believe that is a Model name. I'm looking for brand, e.g., nVidia, EVGA, PNY, ASUS, MSI, ZOTAC, Gigabyte, etc.

VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Here's a quick way to check, Open Task Manager through Ctl-ALT-Delete, go to Performance Tab and select GPU. You should see something like the pic. You can open this when running IL-2 to watch utilization. Flying level at 1500m on the Normandy map in a P-51B I was at about 12-14% utilization.

Fab, will take a look, thanks for your help
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) Also there is this GPU utility. Has a great graph that will show utilization over time, to watch while in game. If you hover over any point it gives info for that moment. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ You can also Benchmark your system, including GPU, which will show if things are working up to snuff.https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Software Another source of slowdowns can be in the nVidia Control Panel. If you have updated drivers lately, you may want to check settings there to see if anything has changed. Edited October 13, 2022 by VBF-12_Stick-95

Yep, same for me with a G2. Down from >70 prior to to 5.002 to ~50 now. Also noticed that all my pilot's notes dds files have been replaced by a stock picture of what seems to be a female VVS pilot. Odd.

[CPT]Crunch Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 If your using a WMR headset like the G-2 and your on the latest Win 11 you probably have this issue. Simple fix, but you have to do it yourself.
tattywelshie Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I’ve fixed it! Tried everything, uninstalled GeForce etc etc and then tweaked my refresh rate in the Oculus app to 90hz and my resolution to 1.1 and now I’m back up to around 80fps. Strange though, not sure if the update affected it, potentially with the new prop effects maybe?
