BOO Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 Prior to wiping everthing by mistake, I used to use Joy2Key to assign LShift to a button on my Mongoose. Trying the same today, whilst it works fine outside of the game, once in game, all I get is the regular key press. Ive tried the usual of running admin and rinning compatibilty modes to ne effect. Then I went over to the VPC software to see about setting up a modifier in that - seems the new firmware is totally different to any tutorial out there and refuses to save a config is you clear the physical button as instructed. Net result that doesnt work either. Then i remembered a hack of editing the gui file manually - that doesnt work either. This is a simple shift function - it shouldnt be this bloody difficult and it probably isnt - its just me. Any help greatfully accepted.

If you mean that the button number of your joystick shows up instead of "LShift" it's because you actually need to press LShift on your keyboard+the button you want it to combine with instead of pressing the button-assigned-as-LShift on your joystick.

That was the badger! Thank you!
Spidey002 Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 I have two buttons mapped to Lshift and Lalt to use as modifiers. When mapping functions in-game, you have to press shift and alt on your keyboard while pressing the other input you want to modify. Once flying, the buttons and modifiers will all work as needed.
