Battle of Normandy will not run either online or off line.  All other modules run normally.  The game will freeze and then it will crash.  Waited a long time for early access and to play on new Normandy map.  Notified Olga from support.

Any recommendations from forum to rectify this?

Tx in advance.

Hi,

your statement is quite strange - what do you mean by all other modules run normally? Because ALL modules (BOS, BOM, BOK, BOBP and BON) run with
on the same process and are build on the same platform. So either all are working or none. I can't imagine anything else, because you cannot select a
specific module when you launch your game - it's all or nothing. Or do you run two different installations with two different accounts? I don't think you are...

So, if you still pretend all other modules work fine except for BON, then you're able to log into your game. I think the trouble starts when selecting a BON
specific feature, like a quick mission on the BON map or starting a new career in BON? Can you confirm my thoughts?

Please take a screenshot of your game's settings, especially the graphic settings and perhaps also your NVidia Control Panel settings. Btw. you might
have installed the newest NVidia drivers? I read that the latest ones cause some trouble in IL2 GB, but I'm not sure if it only concerns the VR guys or if
it is a general issue. I run NVidia drivers 511.65 and I definitely have no problem.

Your system is a bit on the old side; especially your CPU and GPU could do with an upgrade. If the game *only* crashes on the Normandy map, like Therion I therefore suspect that your graphics settings may be too high. Can you move the graphics settings back to their absolute minimum? The game will look bad, but at least that rules out whether there's something wrong with your install, or if your graphics settings are too high for your GPU to handle.

If it still fails with low graphics, your install might have somehow gotten corrupted. If you use Steam, check the validity of the game files. Otherwise, if you use the stand-alone game, I've heard you can do something similar by deleting the update folder. If that fails, re-install.

Didn't think video cards had a shelf life.

Settings were lowered and the game ran.

Going to shop for a new video card.

I appreciate the feedback.

Tx so much!

Therion:

Confirmed.  New career in BON or online (combatbox) I would fly a bit and then crash the screen would freeze and I would have to start over.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Olga helped as well, and we all came to the conclusion that I get to go shopping for a new video card.  Thoughts or suggestion on the new rtx'?

Tx again

Bad time to be shopping for a new vid card. Well, bad timing anyway. You either pay hefty for the previous gen (RTX 3000 series) or pay a lot for entry into the new gen that drops tomorrow (RTX 4090 with cards starting at $1500 or so up to over $2000). Slightly better offerings in a month or two with the 4080 16GB, the 4080 12GB is pretty much what should be a RTX 4070 because its a cut down chip, memory bus and memory size.

If you go with the 3000 series, it seems the prices have also stopped dropping - for the time being at least. Personally I was considering a 3080Ti to replace my 1080Ti, but seeing the review of the 4090 I'm going to hold out for either the 4080 16GB or for several more months if a 4080 Ti drops. 4090 review: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-review If the rest of the RTX 4000 series gets close to that boost over their RTX 3000 counterparts then purchasing a RTX 3000 series card is not worth it at this time unless they drop in price significantly from where they are at currently.

Also AMD, if you choose to go that path, has RDNA3 dropping in the next two months.

Up to you what you'd like to do, just letting you know of the current state of cards.
