Maybe they have to sort out some generic mission planing in the creere as long we don't get fuel tanks.

I had a simillar flight route with Fw190 for the 06.06. beach head attack and 07.06. free hunt over the beach heads - quite long flights but the 190 can do it with proper fuel managment.

Otherwise a few days ago, I had a mission in a Typhoon careere  - pre D-Day - in the area of Avranches.

My flight didn't made it back to Thorney Island cause of fuel shortage and we all ditched into the Channel.

I barely made it home, even with 30 second aircombat with two P38. Dunno if I would have if there was more going on.

Your best bet is to air-start these sorts of missions for now.

Nothing new here. In BOM, you'll have the same issue flying the I-16. Some long ass escort missions best suited for the MiG3. In the I-16 you'll go bingo fuel before the bombers reached their targets.

The answer should be : Yes!

The maps is big enough but are the pc's of the player's also big enough to do it! ?

And for me it should be a big improvement to the game! :salute:

Plus make the multiplayers game more fun! ?

O yes 11% fuel and DT on Spit or 109, so mutch fun in MP ?

Regarding DT, when you look at extracted files from game you can see that planty airplanes have unactive modifications added in files, with wing or underbelly options for DTs, so they were worked on and will probably come at some point. 109s have most finished stuff from looking at thouse files, other airplanes just have basic stuff.

Not to mentions the missions that fly off the map. Literally

Yep, I've often seen the mission's target being out of the combat area, so there was no possible way to complete the mission.

Again, it happened to me in BOM. Escort transports missions to be precise. For some reason the rendez vous point with the Ju52 was at the other end of the world.

We can assume that if the Devs do implement drop tanks, then they will not do it simplistically as it would be against their "values". This is not an arcade game. This means that for each plane where drop tanks are allowed, the fuel circuit and tank switching management as well as flow calculation related to engine power etc. will be done.

This did not make it in BON and I do not think this will come as a BON update anymore, simply because it is a lot of work to have this done for each individual plane that could carry drop tanks and there are many.

The latest interview with the Devs was clear they have decided what the next GB will be and announce it when they will have secured the resources.

Three possibilities here:

1) The next GB has a large map at least like BOK, BON or more, and drop tanks are part of the future mission and career, in which case we will get them as updates during the development cycle of the next GB.

2) This is not part of the game scenarios and maybe the map is not too big so it will be outside the scope, and we will not get it.

3)  It is not part of the next BOX scope, but it has been considered by Devs as a plus to give value to all the titles and as such will be still implemented as a value adding update.

We just have to wait for the next announcement, and we will know better whether such a functionality may come or not.

"We have good news and not so good news on the progress of our new more Complex Fuel Systems feature and Drop Tanks. It looks like we will be able to include drop tanks for some of the later model Bf-109s in the sim along with their new fuel system modeling in the next update"

That was over a year ago, since that dead silence.

I think, sometime after this, they actually posted a statement that Drop Tanks were delayed.

It was probably just a re-allocation of resources to complete other content for BoN. My personal suspicion is that they got to testing, decided to rework the core system further, and that most likely we'll get drop tanks for several aircraft types simultaneously (rather than a gradual roll-out).

Look at what happened with the dynamic vehicle decals... they were supposed to be gradually rolled out for all aircraft... then nothing for the older aircraft, and now that BoN is released they're all going to appear in the next patch (possibly with some tweaks to existing damage textures).

What I haven't seen word on is whether pilots/aircrew will learn to swim...?

DM update come unexpected so probably things got moved around for it to be done properly, also i would not be suprised if DT is gona come for all airplanes that have them at once and not as before tought for 109s and Spits first.

Besides drop tanks I would be interested much more in having the bomber gunners AI be independent from pilot AI, and fire against airplanes even during straight flight where the pilot is locked on a course. For me this would be a higher priority and probably less difficult to implement.
