New installations not working.

I've tried to get PWCG's working but failed. Normandy2, FC and TC dont run. 

 

Installed Java;

 

 

Installed for instance FC;

 

 

 

No error dialogs, nothing. The loading blue circle cursor appears for a split second then nothing. No process in Task Manager.

 

Any assistance appreciated. Thanks.

Java version 8 is old.  Get Java 17

I clicked on the first link in my google search to "install java", not the second.

 

The first link took me to the latest (July 2022) Java Runtime Environment version 8 update 341 build 1.8.0.341-b10

 

The second link takes me to the latest Java Standard Edition Development Kit version 19 / 17. 

 

I was thinking that the latest runtime should work? A trap for new players.

Still not working. PWCGTC.exe doesn't launch. I've installed Java JDK 17 which asked to install JRE 8, which was done. 

Game path is C:\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles.

Java -version = 

Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx512M

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 17.0.4.1+1-LTS-2)
