MoleUK Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 (edited) I love the VR experience and more importantly performance in general in IL-2. But the head movement restrictions (when enabled) feel overly conservative, to the point where I don't feel that I have as much freedom of movement as in track-IR. Currently it feels like there's invisible walls surrounding the inside of the cockpit about 3-6 inches in front of the canopy/sticks/gauges etc that prevent me putting my head up against them. It's like i'm wearing a bubble space-helmet, or perhaps that the Q2 headset isn't calibrated right so that my "eyes" are 3-6 inches further back than they should be. Have the devs said whether or not they'd revisit the restrictions? Not to lift them entirely, but tweak them back a bit? Edited October 7, 2022 by MoleUK 1

The Ju88C-6 for example was tweaked a bit after a few user reports.
FTC_ChilliBalls Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 (edited) One of the issues I have with VR and head restrictions is that if disabled, the placement of the screen and therefore where the actual in game "eyes" are causing unrealistic clipping issues with the cockpit mesh. I.e. when you look back over your shoulder, you look halfway through the glass of most German planes even when your actual eyes would still be inside the cockpit. Unless the devs somehow actually fixed this issue, reducing the restrictions makes little sense sadly. Edited October 9, 2022 by So_ein_Feuerball
WIS-Redcoat Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 It’s been mentioned a lot before. Some o the cockpits aren’t too bad but many are. The Ju88 A in particular and some of the older 109’s are quite frustrating.

But they all feel pretty over the top in terms of restrictions. I'd just be happy to get the same level of restriction as track-IR, though the limitations are always going to feel worse in VR regardless. 22 hours ago, So_ein_Feuerball said: One of the issues I have with VR and head restrictions is that if disabled, the placement of the screen and therefore where the actual in game "eyes" are cause unrealistic clipping issues with the cockpit mesh.
