Crash upon startup [VR]

So, for 3 Days now, i struggle to get IL-2 working with my G2.
The game won´t even get me into the Hangar loading sequence,
it just chokes at the inital loading-screen, once the red bar is full it stops for a minute or 2 than just crashes the .exe.

Things i´ve tried so far:
 
 - new GPU drivers
 - alternate SteamVR openvr.api
 - switching to and from openXR/steamVR
 - verifying game-files
 - restarting PC/router
 - checking firewall
 - Re-install of WMR/SteamVR
 - opt out of SteamVR beta
 - using exefiles without Steam

Played it a 5 days ago just fine..
I did not change any Hardware nor did i install any fishy software or MSI-stuff
Nothing seems to help, the thing is.. Flat-gaming works just fine, but as soon as i start VR, it chockes and crashes.
I really could use some Help from my fellow Pilots, i am slowly running out of ideas

Update, i magically fixed it myself.. 
don´t ask me how, but somehow i stumbled upon a wrong line in the startup.cfg
after "ipd=" was not a nubmer but some nonsensical texlines.. WTF?!?
How can this happen? Never touched the damn thing!

Okay upon starting il-2 a few days later, my startup.cfg got messed up by ther game again.. why is this happening?
the line
"ipd=0.65000"
gets switched to
"Ipd=ing?den"
which makes tha game unable to launch in Vr since these are variables not accetped by the game
why tho´? how to prevent this?
do i need to edit my Startup.cfg everytime now?
