usagi Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) Hi, For some reason, nestle to visor does not work (any more). When key (LShft + V) is pressed, sometimes full visor view is shown quickly, then view jumps to outside of tank and above the tank. Subsequent presses changes only text in the box at bottom of the screen describing visor orientation and then finally loop is over and view is again at inside of tank. Sometimes initial visor view does not even show and view jumps immediately to the outside. Is this bug or do some setting cause this? Edited October 4, 2022 by usagi
moustache Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Mmmh, maybe a double occurrence of this key combination? (if you have changed the keys...) you are talking about visors and sights, confusion? (maybe my translator's mistake...)
usagi Posted October 3, 2022 Author Posted October 3, 2022 I am talking about those prisms that are used to view from tank. Tank crew uses word visor for them.
moustache Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Aaah, be careful, it's not the same key for sights and visors... on the other hand, the fact that it sometimes ejects you in external view, it may be a key mapping problem: check if next to the key there is not a small orange square, and look in the "service" part of the key mapping if there is not the same key mapped
usagi Posted October 4, 2022 Author Posted October 4, 2022 I tried to reset all key mappings to defaults. It still does not work. 1
LachenKrieg Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 @usagi, I haven't played in awhile, but have you tried moving your view/head position forward, back, left, right, up, down using Insert/Home/Delete/End/Page Up/Page Down?
usagi Posted October 4, 2022 Author Posted October 4, 2022 It's a bug. This happens only in new Normandy maps, using quick mission point marked as red circle in attached picture. I installed game to my son's computer and it worked. Then I did complete re-install on my computer and it worked (I happened to choose another map for testing). Then I restored all my campaings, mapped flight controls etc and did a test (it happened to be Normandy) and it did not work any more. After a long fiddling with settings I by accident changed map and suddenly all worked properly, changed back to Normandy 1944 (same with D-Day). Nestle to visor did not work.. 1
moustache Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Hmmm, sorry your problem is not solved @usagi. post your problem on this part of the forum and pray, maybe you will have an answer/help to your problem... https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/89-technical-issues-and-bug-reports/
usagi Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 Thanks, I posted to bug reports forum. I hope that it gets fixed eventually. 1
SCG_SchleiferGER Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 I think this is some kind of server setting. Had this happen to me on Finnish some time ago (which doesn't run Normandy yet), but in singleplayer it worked like a charm.

Thank you for the report! I will check on that. UPD: The bug is caused by the incorrect work of the algorythm of the forced external view, when the camera is under ground. On this point on Normandy you can just drive forward, getting out of the lowland, and the visor camera will be back to normal position. 2
