I don't know a single working age person who ever took more than 9 days off in my life.

Lol this is the most Americans comment in the threat - I literally just got back to work after 14 days paternity leave

American bosses spend much of their time doing adult day-care, so it evens out.

Contrary to popular belief, people do take 2 weeks off form time to time. I've even taken 3 once. :)

I took a month off from work once. When I got back they said if I could be gone that long and everything was fine, maybe they didn’t need me any more. I guess they were right, I don’t work there anymore.

You must work in some level of government.  ?

I couldn't imagine missing out on 14 days of work to sit at home and watch a baby sleep.

Regardless, I assure you Jason doesn't either.

They do, but they probably don't have to.  If they trusted their team a bit and worried more about doing their job (managing) life might be better.  I have had two bosses recently.  One is very hands off and focuses on higher level goals.  The other is into every detail.  Guess who's teams function better?

That's a totally different subject.  My wife rules with an iron fist.

My wife rules with subtle, sideways comments.

“Are you on your computer again?”

She finds this just as effective apparently. ?

This negative marriage talk makes me glad my 'wife' is an anime body pillow.

Nah, I don't really have one.

But if they made airplane pillows...

My wife is actually an awesome person who allows me to watch football and fart around on the computer for excessive periods of time.  I am doing both at the sime time right now.  I would not be producing PWCG without her forbearance.

I took 4 months off when my son was born and then 10 months off when my daughter was.  One of the best things I've ever done.

Come on, we all know she was watching your screen over your shoulder when you typed this.

Nah, I can barely stand to watch anime. Despite several people trying to get me into it at various times in my life.

But I'd totally spoon the sh** out of a 109 body pillow.

Yup. I like women with longish noses, narrow undercarriages, single spar construction, and a total inability to carry heavy loads.

Then you'll be interested in the new P-38 and P-47 pillow line.

See, Jason? This is why you need to come back. So we stop making threads that devolve into talks about wife aggro and anthropomorphized pillows.

It's all your fault, Jason.

Yes, it's all your fault.

Was he....Limoge'd??!? ?

I'd imagine he's on holiday following the Normandy release. If he has moved on, 1C would likely announce it once a replacement was in the position.

But if we're speculating... I think he's in The National Archives in Japan researching PTO :P

More seriously, and going back to the question in the thread's title: less activity in the forums this doesn't mean that there's necessarily a problem with Jason. A problem might be happening, ok, but we know nothing for sure at the moment as nothing official has been announced.

I thought some of the worries were premature but at this point I'm more inclined to think that the praetorian guard has decided to rotate leadership as we close this chapter in the IL-2 saga.

If that is the case and Jason is reading this, a big thanks for all the hard work, all the achievements of the team with BOBP and BON, and the efforts to research the Pacific and B25 bombers. It was a great contribution to IL-2.

It’s actually 1C’s fault, as they don’t seem to grasp that no statement is in fact a gigantic statement.

Some of you have all the detective skills of Kim Kardashian. ?

I'm sorry Jade_Monkey but the whole entire "Great Battles" series does exist because, back in 2010, Jason Williams had previously purchased "Rise of Flight"... both the brand AND THE SOURCE CODE. Thus, it is very hard to believe that Jason Williams is now out of this business. If he is, then maybe he sold the source code, who knows (to 1C or to somebody else). Or maybe he kept the source code for himself so that his relations with the Russians of 1C Company come to and end and he starts putting together a team of American developers in the USA who will start a new brand of simulators which, on their turn, will be based in "Rise of Flight" too (777 Studios would do that very nicely since Jason based it in the USA). In that latter case, the "IL-2 Sturmovik"  brand may continue, why not, but the existing line of "Great Battles" products would stop immediately and the brand would be attributed to a different source code (and at this point I don't see what candidate is out there available for that).

If both Jason Williams and 1C keep silent... there's nothing we can be sure of.
