I will pick up the next project on day one and evaluate their direction again at that time. If I find it greatly disappointing, I will then probably skip the following one.

That was the unfortunate fate of Desert Wings - Tobruk after the disastrous launch of its predecessor, Cliffs of Dover.

I dont think it was just down to Clod being launched without a keel back in the day. For several well rehearsed reasons DWT and its map/content just didnt gel with folk.

Personally, my issues with CloD were largely based on the UI. While Il-2: 46's was clunky, CloD's was downright dysfunctional. It not only does not aid the experience it detracts from it.

I feel like an intern could've made a better one if given a chance.

Once in the pit it the flying wasn't worse than 46, but it was quite a bit different and I never felt like it was an improvement--just different.

To be fair, BoB and N Africa have never been as compelling to me as other theaters/eras of the war. I find them about as interesting as the Kuban/Kerch/Crimean theater, which is my least favorite of the BoX modules when it comes to theaters, although not necessarily the planes included with it. The other 4 rank far higher.

Now if they make a 3rd entry which is in the Pacific for CloD/DWT, I would be super interested in that...but I'd still hope for a UI revamp. While part of me wishes those planes and maps could be brought into BoX, I don't doubt I'd spend more time with the planes than the theaters. Of course, the Normandy map already includes a good bit of what would be needed for BoB.

Yeah CLoD never really tripped my trigger. I tried getting into it but it was just so frustrating. Once IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad came on the scene it was pretty much game over for CLoD for me.

Well strangely enough, BoB and in particular the North Africa theatre are my main interests in WWII air combat... the plane sets used by either side at that time both in BoB and throughout the North Africa campaign are excellent.

There is also the Italian involvement in both theatres as well... and I'll say yes to a GB production to these theatres also, but sadly that will not happen as we all know.

The Pacific will hold my interest, plus Korea, as I'm pretty much greyed out to anything else Eastern Front, however, Murmansk could drag me back in...

I am with you. I could also take Finland early continuous war and winterwar.
I find that period to be pretty balanced with very interesting planes. Like I 153 , Fiat G50 Blenheim MK I , DO 17 , SB 2 , some French some Brewster and Gladiators

I could enjoy that for years. And if you take Helsinki out of it or make Helsinki as big as possible there are no big cities involved

Thank you Art-J. Let's admit the thread's title "This sounds like music to me" doesn't really reveal its content. The present thread is the appropriate place for such news, but it's ok, let's leave as it is. Again, thx Art-J.
