Thank you Jason for you dedication and vision for the Il2 Battle Series.  Coming from a hiatus with playing the original Il2 by Oleg Maddox, it took me a little while to get my toes wet with the re-incarnation that is the Great Battles Series.

From taking the reigns and giving the sim direction and purpose, the Series has flourished with good leadership, a talented creative team and the contributions of many from within the community.  Diving into VR just opened up a new level to flying and Il2 BoX series has been over the last 5 or so years my go to for scratching my flying and dying itch. ?

I am astounded by how well the latest incarnation works in VR.  May the Series continue despite the geopolitical issues and Jason, may you have a well deserved break and than on to new and exciting endeavors for the future.

Again, a big thank you and don't be a stranger.

Vale, Jason and thank you.

Jason, can you send me a lock of your hair, so that I may smoke it in my pipe?  I mean he’s awesome, but when are the Valkyries going to descend, already?

He left in the summer... he's having a mega break, riding across America on some big throbbing machine apparently. ?‍?

I honestly can't even begin to imagine how difficult running this business has been for him over the past 2.5 years and especially the past 6 months.

I'll probably communicate through other properties somehow than hang around here a whole lot. For the first time in 20 years I have no plans for tomorrow. Probably take a break from the daily sim world for a while. Just a personal detox.

I can relate, as I’m sure a lot of us here can.

Thank you Jason and good luck for the future.

You can be proud of these products starting with RoF for sure.

Jason, thank you so much for your passion, for your endurance and your proficiency. You were really 100% in for the GB series.

One could recognize that all content and technology was from someone's mind deeply dedicated into combat flight sim, real

detailed combat sim.

You were definitely not one of those boring, soulless producers who shell out some superficial games only to make some quick

money. You lived our passion, you understood and felt, what we are dreaming of...

Thank you, Jason, thank you from the deepest of my heart.

Cheers

Jason, I was with ROF from the beginning and remember how you stepped in to lead it forward when it was floundering in its early days. And, I have fond memories of those early days when the community was small enough for you to join us punters late night on MP and TS to blow off some steam. So much fun. And to see it grow from there, evolve and then transition into what we now have with BoX, what an accomplishment. It wouldn't have happened without you.

I'm sure you're enjoying your well-deserved break!

Sounds more like a Watson-esque level of deduction.

Sherlock has already moved on to beekeeping by now.

That was the point, the idea being someone would respond with that cliche.  Never mind.

Maybe you’re using hyperbole, but I certainly don’t feel “alone” or “abandoned”.  Hopefully no one’s life revolves around the IL-2 video game to that extent! ? I just see a smart business man made a strategic career choice and moved on, and power to him!  We have almost 100 planes in IL-2, don’t we?  As long as the master servers remain up, and the current team doesn’t foul up the existing content, things are pretty good from a playability standpoint for a while, even if future DLC is sparse or less desirable than before

Could be there will be a few shocks in store come the 9th... We have been spoilt to some extent having Jason at the helm to keep us informed.

Its a really strange situation for me too. I think we dont know everything. Someting must be below the carpet.

Or economize by making an adult film with a nice set of pins and at least one footlong, set on a farm.

Lol - except for this weekend - the Nellis flight line.......

Or maybe it's some kind of part of sanction and it is related with this? This is just my speculation.  However, let me remind you that the main owner of the part of 1C is now Tencet, i.e. China. For example, until April this year, there was also a 1C branch in my country. It was closed in April due sanctions. But that is another story that we do not cover here.

Thank You Jason for your hard work and passions from years! :drinks:

Hats off! :good:

Dear Jason,

A HUGE THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR WORK AND FOR BELIEVING IN THIS TEAM AND THIS WONDERFUL SIM!

I myself am - to my surprise - also finding myself "between jobs" at this moment. Not an easy thing at 51 years of age. But it is surely for the best and I will come out happy and on top and so will you, I am sure. Talent like ours cannot be kept down ?

I've known of you since Naturalpoint days and have great respect for all you have accomplished. Clear skies and happy flying to you,

- Søren

Sorry Puma but at the last minute Oleg apologised and told Jason he was too busy today.

If anyone is interested, please know that Jason's company website has been completely emptied: http://www.777studios.net/

I guess he won't be dealing with simulation for a long time. Unless he simply founded a new company with a new name.

According to LinkedIn he‘s still looking for new opportunities.

Furthermore, his Linkedin account reads: "777 Studios is no longer a business entity, but it's mission goes on under a different organization".

Fascinating! What "different organization"? Skystreak Productions LLC?

No. His Linkedin account reads:

1C Game Studios
Executive Producer
nov. 2012 - oct. 2022 - 10 years

Jason Williams left 1CGS in October this year. Since then, other people, Russians mainly, made some communication on behalf of 1CGS. Thus 1CGS is in Russian hands.

Jason Williams closed his 2007-founded company "777 Studios" in October this year. Jason Williams still owns "Skystreak Productions LLC", a company he founded three years ago. 777 Studios no longer exists and Jason is no longer a part of 1CGS. Thus, if he says "Now Looking for new opportunities" and that 777 Studio's mission "goes on under a different organization"... There is a good chance that this company is "Skystreak Productions LLC". Or another one... why not... BUT NOT 1CGS. Williams is no longer at 1CGS.

Well without all the info you just provided I assumed he had probably sold 777 to 1C to be absorbed into 1CGS.

In any event the take away I got from Jason's farewell message was he is done with flight sims.

However 777's mission was always Rise of Flight so I would also assume the comment that it goes on under a different name would still lead me to believe 1CGS with Flying Circus I and II.

Hey, you're right... FCI, FCII, FCIII and, eventually, FCIV, are nothing but ported "Rise of Flight" material. Then the question is if whether or not Williams sold the 100% of "Rise of Flight" to 1CGS (or to 1C Company, or to others, whoever they are). If he kept the original "Rise of Flight" source code, on one side he could let 1CGS pursues the porting from "Rise of Flight" into the "Flying Circus" series... and on the other side he could put together a new team of developers and let them create new flight sims (WWI? WWII? Korea? Vietnam?) out of the "Rise of Flight" source code.
