Break from the sim...detox how much you got from LA casino?

Nah maybe it it good to take break at least from these forums :)

And end of something is beginning of something...or how they say.

Thanks for your work to make our hobby of WWII (and WWI) combat simming much better.

:salute: JLean

p.s. Normandy map and those new clouds are just looking great just got here fresh from Combat Box

For the first time in 20 years I have no plans for tomorrow. Probably take a break from the daily sim world for a while.

I bet there is a lot of gratefully provided free beer waiting for you if you decide to travel for a bit.  Certainly PM me if you ever want a pint, or a few more, in Raleigh.  Happy to chat about life other than sims or the weather in Moscow.

Bottom line - As many have already said, a simple thank you doesn't do you justice for what you have provided us here and before.

Best of luck to you, Jason! Your leadership sure made BoS one hell of a flightsim!

I was honestly expecting you to start a new CFS but as you posted above, enjoy the time out and the peace while taking your break!

Just got the news and saw your Farewell video Jason.

This made me verry sad but also thankfull for your work and passion for this awesome sim, that gives me so many great and outstanding experiences, since I started back with flight sims in 2019 by taking my first tries in BOS.

I wish you a lucky, successfull and fulfilling new chapter in your journey.

And Journey? - From now on, this great Song will allways remember me of your speech and bring a smile on my face.

The best wishes

Daniel

Sorry you had to go, Jason.

I think you should take this 'opportunity' (excuse the euphemism) to make your own Pacific sim. Silver lining and all.

You can be proud of the work you did here. Best wishes to you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You are in the company of a very small handful of successful people in this business. Wherever you end up in the future, you have left a lasting legacy in the flight sim world and will not be forgotten.

^^^yes, no kidding about that.  But also, to be able to turn a passion for entertainment flight simulation into a successful career…how many people are able to make a career out of things that also happen to be their hobby?  Way cool.

Thanks Jason! Enjoy the well-deserved break.

As someone who just sold his company after 16 yrs, I can recommend: enjoy this time when you have no idea what is next. It may be the most liberating experience you've had in years!

Blue skies, brother.

Was it your choice to move on Jason?

Quite surprised to see the announcement / video, as I'm sure many are.

Regardless of the reasons around moving on... I really appreciate the many years of dedication, strategy and commitment Jason has put into IL-2. The sim has really evolved and matured, and in my eyes... its easily the best WW2 sim experience without any doubt in my mind. Taking a position of leadership with a franchise like this and with such a reputation and integrity at stake, steering its development and making difficult and (for some) controversial decisions that can impact the passionate community here can't have been easy. I recognise he's done very well to steer this ship through all that's happened to achieve some terrific achievements and that takes a certain passion and personal determination to stick to that vision and to realise it. I also appreciate that you need an ability to see through people's opinions and limited field of view and to see the end goal - and so its quite a formidable position Jason has brought the IL-2 franchise to now.

Honestly, getting through everything that has happened... especially with COVID and well.. you know the rest, and coming out strong is something to be proud of and I'm sure it'll be a strange feeling for him (and us) knowing he's no longer at the wheel. Hats off to you Jason!

Thanks again for all of it,

Aurora

I started playing IL2 back in August ‘02, and there is no denying the heights that this franchise reached under Jason’s leadership. No business partnership lasts forever, but this is still a kick in the gut.

Is any information available about the status of 1CGS moving forward? Was this a divorce in which 777 and 1C go their separate ways (the former under Jason’s ownership), or did 1C buy Jason out? The video suggests the latter, but the answer will have important implications for the flight sim community moving forward.

Thanks again, Jason, for everything you did to successfully resuscitate a franchise that many of us thought was dead after CloD!

Will do Pat.  Also, that free beer invitation certainly also applies to you (and Mrs. PWCG) even if Jason doesn't make it to the Triangle to grab a pint with friends he never met.  Open invitation in appreciation for your countless hours & years of work that account for the majority of my 2000+ hours in GBs - just PM me and name the Cary/Raleigh brewery if you want to lift a glass in honor of Jason's work too. :salute:

Jason... you crafted a fine vision and stayed the course. Something to be proud of.

Saying thank you Jason seems not enough, but I am lost for words and feeling a bit empty at the moment.

Be well, be happy and have fun Jason.

Happy landings,

Hoping he teams up with Damon Slye (Red Baron producer) and creates a new flight sim.  Wishful thinking.

If you ever happen to be in the Lower-Rhineland area, give me a heads-up and I can guide you around the Nijmegen, Arnhem, Overloon and Xanten/Wesel area. Drinks are on me of course. All the best and Godspeed.

Jason,

Although we never met I feel as though I knew you by virtue of this great sim.  Your work in getting IL-2 to where it is today is a tribute to your leadership, dedication, skill and knowledge.  Best of luck in all that awaits you.
