How to destroy new armored artillery from BoN?

I was playing around in a quick mission, and tried bombing the armored artillery on the beaches of France, and even when I'd drop a pair of 1000 pound bombs right on the roof, it would still survive, appearing untouched (apart from the giant crater it now sits in).

 

Are these impossible to destroy?

Static objects are supposed to have durability, you have to see in the editor how much durability they have, usually quite high, and you would have to change it when editing a mission for the durability you think appropriate.

If the object is set as linked entity in the ME, is impossible to destroy.

I tried even with durability 1000 and I did nothing to it.

If it's not a linked entity, then you will destroy it even with 250kg bombs

ok, I found it odd that on the same mission (simply quick mission generator) there were radar stations, and armored artillery cannons.  The radar stations were easily destroyed, but the cannons were invincible.  I would think that the problem would be for both.

No problem destroying the coastal defences when they were in beta, assuming nothing changed since then, it should be doable with 500 or 1000 lb bomb. The bomb needs to hit the target though, not "nearby".

In this case the devs explained that the coastal guns/bunkers have extra armor that needs to be destroyed first before the durability is decreased. The problem is we don't know what the level of armor is and we have no control over it in the mission editor. I tested by dropping 10x 1000lb bombs on it and it still wasn't destroyed.

So for my missions I'm using a workaround now with fake objects.....

Sounds more like a bug than anything else. But I do like the idea of us having to request ever larger bombs in order to break through these bunkers... maybe a Lancaster 'special' ? It is fun to imagine these things as real objects/obstacles... that we as a community have to find a way to break - reminds me of the beginning of The Guns of Navarone.

I dropped 2x 1000lb bombs and 1x500lb bomb, and landed them on the roof, and repeated 6-7 times.  Nothing happened.

Are you talking about these buildings? I had no problem taking them out with a single 500lb with a Mosquito.

Are them set as linked entity?

When Battery Todt was first introduced I put it in one of my missions.  No weapon available to the Allied side could touch it.

The biggest bomb available on the Ju88 and He111 could.

Not sure but i believe so. Fly a regular quick mission and you can destroy them just fine. No need to do any editor wizardry.

Cause when I put them as linked entity I cannot destroy them, when they are not it's pretty easy to have a kaboom

Aren't these things meant to duel with naval artillery? I'd be surprised if anything short of a bomb through the firing port would be effective in real life.
