welther Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 I don't think there is anyway to view units like in 1946. I know you can see the plan you fly and in-game see which active unites there are. But I would like to see a menu-based "unit viewer". The story behind it was that I was flying the Ice ring campaign and was sent to hit AA guns. But I didn't know what to look for. I attacked an airfield and never saw what was hitting me. Same with a reconnaissance flight and spotted loads of tanks; trouble is: I didn't know what side there were on. I can identify a Tiger, Panther, Sherman and some others, but I would like to have the option to go through them and search for them in a viewer when in doubt.
AEthelraedUnraed Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) Not sure what you mean here. You can have Icons On, which shows the type and distance of all units on-screen. You've got Map Icons which shows all units on the map. You can use Shift-F2 and Ctrl-F2 to view respectively all friendly and enemy planes, and Shift-F5 and Ctrl-F5 to do the same thing for ground units. Edited September 25, 2022 by AEthelraedUnraed
Eisenfaustus Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 He is talking about an ingame „sturmopedia“ like there was in IL2 46. thus he could train himself to distinguish a pzkpfw iv from an T-34 with the ingame models. Not a bad idea in my opinion.
