Amazingmaker Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 As the title says, I wanted to buy battle of Stalingrad on Steam (I like having all my games organized). How much storage space would that take up do you think? Additionally, if I bought battle of Stalingrad on the official website, how much storage space would that take up? Thank you for any and all answers.
DerRechtsanwalt Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 I have everything save Flying Circus II, (plus a shed load of skins) and it takes up 98.3GB.
percydanvers Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 About 65GB for me (all “battles” tank crew and flying circus I and II plus some skins)
Jaws2002 Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 My folder is 108GB. Everything is bought from the official store. Have all expansions + skins.
Jade_Monkey Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) To clarify: Regardless of what you buy, the game will download all the assets, so adding more battles won't change the size. The delta between people's storage numbers might be mods, temp files, logs, downloaded missions, screenshots, tracks, skins, etc. Edited September 23, 2022 by Jade_Monkey 1 2
R33GZ Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 From memory, my initial Great Battles download for BoK purchased last year was approx 30Gb - It has grown since then with screenshot, recorded tracks extra missions etc
Mtnbiker1998 Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Straight out of the Steam Library (I changed out the Stalingrad art for Normandy;) this does not include skins, mods or other files. 64GB.
Feldgrun Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 If you add a ton of skins and custom missions, it can add up quickly (156 GB for me).
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 How can I find my hard drive storage total for BoS
BOO Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 2 hours ago, taffy2jeffmorgan said: How can I find my hard drive storage total for BoS You can browse to where the your folder "IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of -----------" is (for me its Battle of Stalingrad - i dunno if it always the first game you bought in the series) and either hover your mouse over it or right click and select "properties" and that will tell you.
senseispcc Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 I have all the modules form Battle of Stalingrad to Normandy plus Prokorovka, and some (a lot) Skins all historical... (210 Go (226.105.750.962 octets)
IckyATLAS Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 103 GB for me. I have a very small number of custom skins installed, about 5.
moustache Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 does anyone know why there is this difference (of 40 GB anyway) between the "homemade" version and the steam version? isn't it the launcher that weighs all that? Is there a way to reduce the file size a bit?
AEthelraedUnraed Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 As Jade_Monkey already said, all modules should be equal and any differences likely come from additional skins, campaigns, missions or mods. If you don't plan to use any of those, look for the minimum of the numbers mentioned above. 7 hours ago, senseispcc said: (210 Go (226.105.750.962 octets) Based on the name, I'm assuming that with "octet" you mean "byte"? And with Go you mean GB (rather than Gb)?

Did you try to remove them and see what happens?

dburne Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 72 GB here. No mods (other than PWCG), no custom skins.
