IL2 1946 joystick will not work

I have a BU0836A joystick controller. IL2 1946 does not recognize it and there is no JS listed in the input section of the game.

Anyone else have this problem? is there a fix for it? I have had and played this game for many years, now have issues.

The BU0836A has a 1.20 firmware.

All the other game recognize the controller and work well. The issues is, I had to reinstall the OS after a Windows 10 update, which screwed up everything. Any help would be appreciated.

I screwed around with it. It seems that it likes and needs a USB 2.0 port. then reassign the devices in the game. Now it works.

Glad you got it solved, one thing to note if someone stumbles on this post with a similar issue (controllers are not seen in 1946)  is you can not have more than 4 gaming devices plugged in or you will have the same issue regardless of your USB port.
