kraut1 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Hi, When I noticed the trouble of the "Crash to desktop after loading splash screen issue" on monday: -before wasting my time with a new install of GB or similar things I decided first to have a look in the forum if others have the same issue. -After I noticed the other reports of the same issue I decided to do no changes, because it was obvious that I have not created this problem by myself. -I confirmed the report of the same issue in the forum -After I read in the forum that the alternative use of the IL-2.exe in the \bin\game\ could work I tried this and it worked. Positive Aspect: In contrast to the official IL2 link on my desktop the IL-2.exe seems to have advantage, that if I activate VR in the graphic settings this option is saved when using the .exe. In previous times when I wanted to use the official link on my desktop for VR gaming each time I always had to activate VR from new and to restart the game. But maybe I did the last years always something wrong.

I believe you can edit the shortcut to steam://rungameid/307960/VR so it starts in VR directly. 1

You can also just launch it through Steam, you'll get a popup for whether you want to open it in VR or not. Since the Steam Library update a couple years back I don't even use my desktop for games anymore. Way less clutter not having half my desktop covered in game icons
