Hi,

Now we have a great Channel / Normandy Map and a Spitfire Vb with already available official early RAF Skin.

Please add a Va armament option with 8 x 7.7mm Brownings.

Would be absolutly great for early 1941 missions!

Thanks in Advance

Now that Battle of Normandy has released and this plane is quite appropriate for the map, it deserves its missing mods. To add to the mod suggested above the Clipped wing and a Merlin 45M engine modifications could also be added and would further enhance the product.

Spitfire Vc can be left as a different aircraft for another expansion.

and Vc with 4x20mm

Va with 8x7.7 was produced at same time with Vb with 2x20 and 4x7.7 so you can use it for early 1941, they quickly realised 303 is not good enought no mather how many you can put in wings.

But I doubt they gona waist time on older airplanes and add modifications to them for free. If some future DLC can have later Spitfire V it will probably come then, but Spitfire IXc or VIII will probably have advantage there for 43-44.

Having the +16 boost being a modification rather than stock would be nice too and allow for proper use of Spit V for 1941 and early 1942 scenarios.

This.  And then add a collector Spit F.IX with Merlin 61/63/66 options, and a collector Spit II.  Then we’d have all the most common western front Spitfires from late 1940-1945

I'd rather these variants were NOT all collector's vehicles. There is only one standard edition Spitfire (Mk IXe), whereas all but one Bf 109s are standard, for instance.

Maybe a mapless pack of various Channel Front aircraft would be a good sell.

Yes, you never can have too many Spitfires! Spitfire HF Mk.VII, Spitfire LF Mk.IXc and Spitfire LF Mk.Vb. All of them please ?

I know it's in the realm of semantics, but wouldn't it make more sense adding a Mk. II with the same modification options as the Mk. Vb (Merlin 45 and mirror)?

AFAIK, only some 90 Mk. I/IIs were converted to Mk. Vas, but the Mk. IIs soldiered on well into '41 when production of the Mk. Vb started.

My point being that the MK. II was much more common in early '41, and that way we even get to do our (fairly late) 1940 BoB thing with that and the Bf 109 E-7. Two birds with one stone, so to speak.

currently I am trying this to simulate earlier 1940 armaments:

In respect of the performance I was surprised that interesting dogfights AI controlled BF109-E7s vs AI controlled Spitfire VBs (default Merlin) in low / medium altidudes are possible.
