VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) This is a historic skin pack based on SB-V of the 464 Squadron RAAF, including pre-D-Day, D-Day and Mid-1944. The Pre-D-Day and D-Day skins are an estimation of how they would have looked. SB-V S/N MM403 Pilot: Fl. Lt. Richard M. Trites RCAF, age 25. Took off from RAF Thorney Island at 0032 hours on 18 January 1945, being part of a force of 14 aircraft from the Squadron detailed to attack enemy targets in the rear of the Ardennes salient. MM403 failed to return from the mission. It was later established that the aircraft crashed 10 miles north east of Merville and that Fl. Lt. Trites had been killed in the crash. The squadron was officially formed on 1 September 1942. Personnel were drawn from many countries and only about 30 percent were Australian. In July 1943, the squadron was re-equipped with de Havilland Mosquitos becoming operational with these on 3 October. In early 1944, still based out of Hunsdon, 464 Squadron concentrated on attacking V-1 flying bomb launch sites. The squadron's activities were intensified from April as part of the preparations for the Allied invasion of Europe. It struck railway infrastructure, bridges, road transport and convoys. In contrast with its previous operations, these sorties were often conducted during daylight. The squadron continued to attack transport and communications targets from June 1944 to support the invasion. For the next two months, the squadron's operations intensified further. Throughout July it flew more than 350 sorties. In August 464 Squadron flew 400 sorties, concentrating mainly upon carrying out night-time attacks on German transports and infrastructure in France. Also included in the skin pack are three "Blank" skins (no lettering) for use with the in-game lettering capability. And finally, thanks to Raptorattacker for the template. Note: Just in case you haven't had a skin made up of 2 files each, this is one of them, so place all files in the Mosquito folder.
